Over time, Scope Mounts Ltd.'S success grew due to its dedication to quality products and customer service; however, it was also through these qualities that the company came into contact with some of the most famous firearm manufacturers in the world such as Winchester Repeating Arms Company (Winchester), Ruger & Co., Colt Automobiles Inc., Browning Arsenal Firearms Manufacturing Co., etcetera. In 1951, John Hargrave passed away but his son Derek continued operations at Scope Mounts Ltd.. After years of growth withinscope mount industry - including opening new stores across Texas - Derek Hargrave officially retired from business in 1984 but continuee d day-to-day operations until 1992 when he passed away also leaving behind his wifeSusan Fenton who continued running The Business until her death in 2001.* In 2002, successor Hunter Hargrave began fulltime operation of The Business under new ownership which has since grown into one of Texas' leading online retailers for hunting/rifle accessories.* In 2016 Hunter's grandson Tyler became owner/operatorof The Business after successful completion of college*

Kilgore is a small town in Johnson County, Texas, United States. The population was 1,414 at the 2010 census. Kilgore is located in the northeastern corner of the state and its elevation is 527 feet (160 m). It is bordered by Fort Worth to the east, Irving to the north, Plano to the west and Grapevine to the south. The community was founded in 1876 by James A. Kilgore and his wife Sarah J. Grant as a post office on an old cattle drive from Wichita Falls to San Antonio. In 1881, Kilgore became a county seat when it was created from parts of Bowie County. By 1930, it had become one of Johnson County's principal towns with retail stores and services available throughout most of its core business district including arterial streets that ran through town center while other areas were developed for agricultural or recreational use only. During World War II several thousand Americans served in defense of Kilgore as part of Operation Crossroads which took place along I-10 near Dallas-Fort Worth; many residents still live here today because they are related to these servicemen or because they have some connection with military service through their families or friends who are active duty members of our armed forces. Kilgore is located in Doña Ana County, Texas, and was founded in 1836. The town was named for General George A. Kilgore, who had been a Mexican general during the War of Independence. The population of Kilgore grew to over 1,000 people by 1840, and it became an important stagecoach stop on the Santa Fe Trail. In 1851, Kilgore became a county seat, and from then until 1920 it served as the capital of Doña Ana County. In 1915 Kilgore was renamed for John Fenton Garland Sr., one of the United States Senators from Texas. During World War II, Kilgore was home to numerous military airfields used by the United States Army Air Forces: Keesler Field (later known as Mount Hood), Westover Field (later known as Eglin Field), and Dyess-Forsyth Field (later known as White Sands).

In 1827, James Kilgore was born in what is now Kilgore, Texas. After attending the University of Texas at Austin and serving in the Union Army during the American Civil War, he became a landowner and cattleman in central Texas. Kilgore died in 1928 and was buried in nearby San Antonio.
