Post built a two story building on what is now Main Street which served as both his store and home until 1954 when he sold his business to JB Hunt & Co., Inc.. The Post family kept the business running until it closed down in 1984 due to economic decline within Tarrant County which had impacted much of Northeast Texas at that time. In 1951, construction began on Kerrville Municipal Airport which would become one of Tarrants most important aviation attractions over the years with its several thousand check points for passengers and cargo alike as well as its many runway(s) which made it an ideal place to set up temporary airfields during World War II before they were relocated away from populated areas closer to combat zones or airports nearer thereto such as Wichita Falls Municipal Airport (KFLL). In 1970, KFCS (NBC), one of America's first major television networks started operations from a transmitter located east of town across Big Spring Creek from what is now downtown Kerrville giving rise to some confusion about where "Kerrville" actually sat geographically speaking prior to that point having no clear understanding whatsoever about why certain channels were being produced there rather than more distant locales like Dallas/Fort Worth or Austin/San Antonio etcetera given that those aforementioned cities were then considered "prime-time TV markets."
