Kerrville is a small town in the Mexican state of Tamaulipas, located about 120 miles southeast of Mexico City. The population was 11,473 at the 2010 census. After the war ended, many families decided to stay in Kerrville and drill their own militia for another war; this time against Mexico. In 1930, local mayor John Wiegand established a public library in honor of his father-in-law Lewis Kerr Sr., who had died few years earlier while serving with distinction in World War I as an artillery officer with Company K2/5th US Infantry Regiment (Red River) at San Antonio de Bexar County seat Mission Viejo de Zaragoza battlefield hospital). In 1954 the post office was moved from Beaumont to Kerrville after two moves over twenty years due to lack of space at Beaumont Post Office & Telegraph Building (now Beaumont Municipal Airport). On July 1st 1957 there was another move when Headquarters & Headquarters Squadron #2 USAF Air Defense Command moved from Corpus Christi TX to become operational at Fort Worth AF Base then later Travis AFB before being reassigned backto Beaumont on October 15th 1959 just prior Memorial Day weekend! That same year Mrs Charles Hargrave donated land east of town on which now stands our current Baptist church known as First Baptist Church – George Murchison Chapel (named for Rev Dr Charles Hargrave son of Mrs Hargrave). Mrs Hargrave also donated 5 acres south side Main Street where today’s Community Pool is located

Today's economy is based largely on agriculture; however, manufacturing has also grown since 2000 when oil production moved to nearby Monterrey from 4 miles away due to new hydraulic fracturing techniques called fracking
