These inspections were designed to improve firearm security by identifying and correcting issues that could lead to accidents or other unauthorized use of firearms . Additionally, TDCJ also offered free safety advice to Dealers participating in its Gun Safety Education Program . During these inspections, TDCJ confiscated some 2,000 weapons and placed them into storage . In 1995, following passage of Senate Bill 593 , which amended Senate Bill 419 , all handgun sales within Kerrville must be done through an approved ammunition dealer rather than through individual buyers/ sellers . This law remained effective until 2003 when it was repealed as part of government reform Since 2003 there have been several incidents involving guns in Kerrville including: In 2007 an accidental discharge resulted in the death of two dogs at an animal shelter after someone brought their gun inside with them while they were playing with their dog outside; this marked the second time that guns had been discharged inside an animal shelter since 2003 In 2008 gunshots erupted outside an east side bar before police arrived; no injuries were reported but three people were arrested for carrying assault rifles without proper permits

The district covers an area of 94 square miles and has 1,986 students in grades 9 through 12. The KISD was formed on February 1, 1969 from the merger of the two unincorporated communities of White Sands and Oak Cliff. In January 2002, then-District Superintendent Darrell Wyatt announced that NRA members would be allowed to bring their firearms into the school district for training purposes only. Kerrville is a small town in Hudspeth County, Texas, United States. The population was 2,583 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Austin-Round Rock, TX Metropolitan Statistical Area. The name "Kerrville" comes from General George Custer's battle ground there in 1876. In 1907, Kerrville became the first city in Texas to be established as an independent municipality with its own government and police department. Today, Kerrville remains an agricultural and rural community with a strong Hispanic presence. The history of Kerrville began with two families who came to the area in 1853: James and Anna Kirkpatrick; their son John A. Kirkpatrick arrived in 1857 and took up farming near present-day Cadenas Creek Road and US 71 south of town; his father had come over on the “Great Northern” ship from Scotland two years earlier. By 1860, James A.'s three children were living in what is now downtown Kerrville: John A., Mary (née French), Harry Witherspoon (born about 1865). James A.'s grandson Jens Rasmussen settled hereabouts about 1880 or thereabouts after leaving his home at Ransom Hill northeast of Austin for what turned out to be a successful career as a banking executive with First National Bank of Dallas. In 1897 Arthur Pugh opened his grocery store on Main Street east of town; by 1905 proprietor Pugh had built another Storey Building on West Third Street that housed both his business and house until 1927 when it burned down due to arson by local youths although damage was minimal because no one was injured inside either building during that time frame! Kerrville post office operated from 1882 until 1959 when it was moved to Post Office Park southeast of town; currently located off FM 620 between Garner Rd./US 281/US 183 just north of IH 10W exit 167B! A general store (built c1880) stood atCurrent 3rd St.; this structure burned down Sept 9th 1902 but all contents were saved including many jars & pails full of quicksilver mined along Rio Grande River canyon upstream from today's site - current day backyards Of 3rd st NW corner lot still have some remnants FROM THAT STORM! Today much like then most people around here still farm & ranch their land pretty much unchanged since those days thanks largely to our great Cowboy Cavalry Heritage

As a result of this order, many people were killed or wounded when Confederate artillery opened fire on the town. The death toll reached 1-2 hundred before Confederate General Braxton Bragg arrived and ordered the withdrawal of all troops from Texan soil. After Reconstruction ended in 1877, Kerrville began to decline as businesses left for new economic opportunities in other parts of Texas orOklahoma. However, it regained some importance after World War II when it became a center for aircraft production at nearby Midway Airport. Today, Kerrville is a small community with few remaining businesses and no professional schools

By 1910, the population had grown to 10,000 people and peaked at 15,000 in 1920. However, due to World War II and the post-war boom in Texas agriculture, Kerrville's population slowly declined from 20,000 to 9,000 residents by 1960. It decreased further to 6,500 residents by 1970. Today it has a population of 30000 residents
