Keller, Texas is a small town in Midland County, Texas, United States. The population was 1,878 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Austin–Round Rock metropolitan area. The town was founded on July 4, 1879 by James Keller and his wife Kate. The name "Keller" was selected because it sounded like an American Indian word meaning "place to rest." In 1902, the Kellers donated land to form what became Midland Park and around 1907 that property became part of the city of Austin. In 1911, James Keller subdivided land in Keller Township into two lots and named one lot Enterprise Boulevard in honor of his friend Edward Everett Hughes (1859-1942), who had been mayor of Austin from 1909 to 1912 andserved as governor from 1913 to 1917. Hughes had helped found the University of Texas at Austin (UTA) in 1907. The other lot became known as Utopia Place. In 1915, George Wernham bought a tract south of Midland Park for $10 000 which he called "Hueytown." He developed it into what is now downtown Keller with smart homes, a shopping center and offices buildings still standing today. Hueytown was once home to more than 100 businesses including Sears Roebuck & Co., JCPenney & Co., Kmart Corporation and many others who built their businesses here during the early 20th century when Keller was one of America's fastestgrowing frontier towns. He died on October 21st 1957 after a long life filled with accomplishment both public service and private enterprise including founding Hueytown's first bank - First National Bank - that same year; being elected Mayor three times consecutively from 1945 until his death; serving as chairperson for the State Board of Education from 1951 until his death; president/founder/CEO for First National Bankshares Incorporated since its inception in 1953; serving as chairman emeritus for US Bancorp NA since its incorporation on December 12th 2002; Chairman Emeritus for Texaco Incorporated since its incorporation on February 26th 1976 thru November 5th 1978 due to ill health

Keller, Texas is a small town in the county of Tarrant, located in the central region of Texas. The population was 3,521 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Amarillo–Texas City Metropolitan Statistical Area. As of the 2010 census, Keller had a population of 4,853 and it is projected to reach 5,100 by 2040. The town was founded by European Americans in 1867 when they were attracted to its fertile land and reasonable prices for goods on the open market. The early residents were Methodists and Presbyterians who named their community after John Keller, an American missionary who had been sent to India in 1866-1868. At first there were just a few frame houses and no school; however, over time more homes were built and a grange/church was built (now known as First Baptist Church). By 1890 there were also several stores and two churches in Keller. Businesses grew rapidly due to railroads coming through the area which made transportation easier and provided jobs for local people. In 1925 oil was discovered in Keller – this led to a major growth in business because new industries such as manufacturing developed around oil production. There are now several hotels, restaurants, schools (including one high school), shopping centers, three hospitals (one operated by Baylor Health Sciences Center), four churches (twoMethodist/Pentecostal), two golf courses (one managed by PGA TOURmember Sam Snead) as well as dozens of businesses that support local commerce such as fabricators/welders/carpenter etc., agricultural producers such as haymakers/seed dealers etc., trucking companies etc., real estate developers etc., PipelineCorp has been active here since 1978 with over 100 employees doing various tasks from engineering services to construction management
Keller is a city in and the county seat of Travis County, Texas, United States. The population was 943 at the 2010 census. It was founded on the banks of the Colorado River in 1847 by entrepreneur John Keller and his brother-in-law James Fenton. They named their new town after George Washington and said it would be "the most important center in the valley." In 1850, they built a gristmill and sawmill across from what is now downtown Keller. The first post office in Keller was opened in 1852. In 1865, John Keller donated land to build an all-black high school that became Austin High School. In 1872, all black students were integrated into nearby Springdale Elementary School; this event is usually cited as marking the start of integration in Texas schools. By 1880, white students had begun moving out of rural Travis County for jobs in Dallas and San Antonio; however, many residents of Keller continued to live there because it offered easy access to local resources such as water mills or lumberyards. In 1890, Keller's first store opened with a combined floor area of . By 1900, businesses had mushroomed with a total floor area of . On December 12th 1907, construction began on what would become known as State Capitol Park which would later house both the Texas House (later State Senate) building (1911) and then the Texas governor's Mansion (1912). On November 14th 1912 - also known as Black Friday - 100% cotton prices plummeted due to Tropical Storm Harvey; accordingly, much business was conducted at local stores on that day instead of going outside where prices were higher elsewhere
