However recent economic struggles have again caused concern about future viability; although many residents still commute into downtown Dallas or other major metropolitan areas for work, many others have moved into annexed rural areas outside of town limits since 2000 because they cannot afford high housing prices within town limits or lack other economic opportunities outside of their townshipping abilities
