Captain John Credible's heirs sold their holdings in Fort Mose and Jacksonville to General Josiah Bogan on January 2, 1886 for $10,000 cashier’s check with no interest payable until May 15th 1886 when it became effective as a town charter under Act No 7996 approved by voters on April 12th 1886 On December 6th 1896 JBH & CO organized as First National Bank which soon became one of America's leading banks with branches throughout Texas
