The holster industry in Jacksonville, Texas began to grow substantially in the early 1900s. The first holster company was established in 1903 by George W. Drexel and John S. Stevens. By 1915, there were four holster companies operating in Jacksonville. In that year, the state legislature passed a bill compelling all handgun carriers to carry handguns inside of their vehicles with any type of holster on their person at all times. This law led to the establishment of the Concealed Pistol License Board (CPLB) in 1916 as an effort to regulate and submit recommendations for new concealed pistol laws to the state government. During World War I, many men served in the military and brought their pistols with them home with them. When the war ended, many soldiers returned home with new firearms licenses and shotguns that they had acquired while serving overseas. As a result, demand for handguns increased throughout Jacksonville and various holster companies were formed to meet this need. One of these organizations was The Holster Company which was founded by George W Drexel and John S Stevens in 1903. The company became one of America’s leading manufacturers of holsters for handguns until it merged into Browning-Ferris Industries Incorporated in 1929. Other major Holster Companies during this time include: Colt Firearms Corporation (1910), Western Cartridge Company (1920), Hirschfeld & Sons Custom Gun Shops (1930), Republican Armory (1932), Green Bay Armory Co., Inc.(1936). During World War II,holsters became increasingly important as individuals sought ways to protect themselves from potential enemy attack or assassination attempts when carrying their firearms openly around town or travelling within city limits. Several different types of holsters were developed specifically for use during wartime; such as “Gatling Guns” which utilized straps running along each side of the gun barrel instead of a traditional Velcro strap system used today; “Hexagonal Bars” which resembled a medieval knight’s plate mail armor worn above the waistband; “Trench Hats” which featured two rubberbands securing a web belt across your chest above your heart rate monitor; and finally, “Popguns” which consisted of an adjustable grip stock wrapped around a solid barrel that allowed users to fire off rounds without having their hands tied behind them like common open-vested shooters did back then! In 2002, the City Council voted to annex unincorporated portions of Collin and Travis counties into Jacksonville so that they could join together as one municipality with a combined total population exceeding 100,000 residents within two years; this annexation was approved by voters at large but not yet effective because Collin and Travis counties have separate legislatures and governments). In recent years oil production around Jaguarsport began to decline due to competition from more efficient fracking techniques used in other parts of Texas However there are still some active oil wells being drilled in Jacksonport which may provide additional income for local businesses
