Ammunition history in Hurst, Texas began with the establishment of a gunpowder manufacturing center in the town in 1876. The company was founded by George W. Boggs and his brother-in-law, Jesse H. Barnes, and produced firearms including revolvers and shotguns. In 1899, the company merged with Winchester Repeating Arms Company to form Winchester Firearms Corporation. A munitions plant was established at Hurst in 1922 and continued to produce ammunition until it closed in 1984. The plant produced over 2 million rounds of ammo per year.

Hurst, Texas is a small town located in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, about 30 miles north of downtown Dallas. The population was 3,846 at the 2010 census. The Hurst area was first settled by Cowboys in the early 1800s. The town was named for General John Hurlbut (1814-1888), who served as the U.S. Commander-in-Chief during the Mexican War and later became a general in the Union army after the American Civil War. Hurst began to grow rapidly during World War II when many soldiers came to work on nearby military installations. The post office was established in 1945 and has been in operation ever since. In 1957, Hurst had its first bank account and began receiving mail from all over Texas through USPS mail service until 1997 when it switched to an online banking system. Today, Hurst is home to a variety of businesses including several heavy manufacturing companies that have moved from other parts of Texas into Hurst over the years; a large health care company with close ties to local hospitals; and two high school districts - one public and one private - which are both highly rated by state government agencies for their quality education programs

Hurst, Texas is a town in Hidalgo County, Texas, United States. The population was 2,636 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Austin–Round Rock metropolitan area. The first settlers in Hurst were Dutch immigrants who arrived in 1837. They named their place "Hurst" after John Hurd, an early settler. In 1859, Abraham Lincoln visited the town and preached at the Methodist church there. A year later, a post office was established at Hurston and mail was delivered to Fort Worth by wagon from Wichita Falls. In 1865, John Maney founded the oil well company Maney & Son near present-day Midland Park. By 1870, over 60 wells had been drilled in and around Hurst; by 1880 only four remained open for production due to competition from oil field development elsewhere in Texas and Oklahoma City. The Panic of 1893 caused prices of oil to plunge and many rigs to be mothballed or sold off; however, many local businesses were able to stay afloat thanks to the support of Maney's son-in-law J P Morgan Sr., who donated $5 million for a new university campus in nearby Round Rock (later University of Texas). Many people left Hurst during that time period for better opportunities: some went on to become millionaires through real estate ownership or business ventures while others moved away altogether as a result of economic hardship brought about by drought and other natural disasters such as floods following Hurricane Harvey earlier this year. However, much of what has changed since then has occurred within the community itself—mainly through births and deaths among its citizens which have kept it lively through periodic turnover throughout history! In 1912, construction began on what would become UT's first building: First Lady Mary Elizabeth Johnson's home on University Avenue just east of I-35W; it now serves as both an undergraduate student residence hall (known today as Rice Stadium) and also acts as a museum/research center providing information about Texans' ties to Baylor University (now BaylorUniversity). In 1927–28 Big Bend National Park was created adjacent to Hurst when Waco Hills Dam failed catastrophically; communities along US 71B west of town contributed water storage capacity needed for park purposes while UT students conducted research into tree ring records associated with that region back then!
