These acquisitions gave BT&T control over much valuable technological infrastructure within Chattanooga! During World War II, many industries needed optical equipment to produce wartime munitions. For example, ammunition manufacturers required high quality lenses for their firearms sights; metalurgists needed specialist tools for welding heavy metals; chemical engineers needed high quality spectroscopy devices; physicians needed medical instrumentation such as X-ray machines or computed tomography (CT) scanners; etc.) After the war ended, these same industries started again but with new requirements – they wanted new technologies that hadn’t yet been invented! So FTAs began developing new systems that could be used across different markets without having to build from scratch each time!
