Humble is a town in Richardson County, Texas, United States. The population was 9,836 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area. Humble was founded in 1868 by George Humble and his brother James Humble. At first it was a small community on the banks of the Trinity River. In 1870, George Humble donated land to make way for what is now the town square. The square currently contains many historic buildings including the old Richardson County courthouse and jail which are also on display in downtown Humble. In 1932, J.C.'s store opened up in what is now Main Street and Billie's bar opened up on Cedar Street just south of I-10 east of US-75 near Texarkana Boulevard. These two stores were among the first businesses open in town after it became a city in 1923 following approval from then-Mayor Johnnie Moore. The city name changed to Humble City in 1935 when it annexed part of Plano (later Arlington). In 1948, when Terrell Irving bought most of present day streets around Main Street from J C's heirs, he named them "Irving Drive". A year later he tore down all but one building on that street - which still stands today - to build his new shopping mall which includes restaurants and office space as well as a movie theater and several convenience stores/gas stations along its perimeter (the other building was torn down during annexation into Arlington). That same year saw another major development when businessmen Harry Payne Jr., Lamar Hunt and others purchased all remaining acres north of I-10 east of US 75 for $5 million making Humble an incorporated city with over 100 acres (40 hectares) within its borders! One result has been increasing suburban growth around HWY 10 while less dense housing developments have sprung up near downtown; this may be changing soon as plans are underway for an expressway connecting HWY 10 with DFW airport through downtown Humble via Express Lane! Humble is a town in Bastrop County, Texas, United States. The population was 9,541 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Austin-Round Rock metropolitan area. Humble was founded in 1837 as a small farming community by Methodist missionaries and Settlers from North Carolina. In 1848, Humble became the county seat of Bastrop County and has been continuously so since then. The town of Humble was established on November 2, 1837 by Methodist missionaries under the name "Humble Hill". The first settler to arrive in what would become Humble was James Whitehead who came with his family from Raleigh, North Carolina on October 20th, 1837. Other early settlers included John Aiken (1839-1911), Noah Whitehead (1840-1912), Solomon Witherspoon (1842-1924) and their families. By 1860, there were over 100 residents in Addison Township and over 220 residents in Bastrop County. The Town of Humble experienced rapid growth during its early years due to the increase in population due to wagon train travel between Fort Worth and Austin for goods and services that supplemented the growing cattle ranching industry within Bastrop County. The arrival of railroads increased trade with outlying counties and brought new opportunities for commerce including banking services unavailable before railroad development; retail sales; tourism; shipping ; as well as transportation for goods across state lines intoTexas through majorHouston Road crossings such as Buffalo Bayou During this period of growth, much progress was made within the confines of what would become known as "the original town." For example: In 1853 when water restrictions forced individual farmers to purchase or build cisterns that Provided water for their homes & fields they could not rely on system generated runoff which contaminated rivers & streams running through their communities & gradually turned them into Statistical ghost towns (& hazardous waste dumping sites still extant today). Southern married women had gained control over property values & were able to establish business ventures outside their husbands' businesses becoming known as Female Businesswomen or FW's Additionally schoolhouses were erected throughout early settlements providing educational opportunities for children living near by while parentschooled their children nearer home This type of teaching style spread throughout America during this time period until formal schooling became available statewide in 1914 .
