Humble was founded in 1881 by Obed Humble and John Wilkinson. Humble is located on U.S. Highway 290 about 25 miles (40 km) east of Dallas and 45 minutes west of Fort Worth. The original settlers were mostly farmers who grew corn, wheat, beans, cotton, and other crops near their homes for local consumption orexport to neighboring states. Cotton trafficking was an important economic activity at the time as it allowed Texans to purchase goods from Mexico without having to carry any heavy loads across the Rio Grande River. In 1881 Obed Humble decided to move his family from Missouri back to Texas in order to take advantage of the new land opportunity available northwest of Austin in Potter County. He and his sons Charles and Orson each took a team of oxen and carts with them on horseback when they arrived in late November 1881. They started homesteading just north of what is now known as "The Gables" which still stands today within the town limits today (along US 290). Within a few years they had grown several vegetables gardeners; raised chickens; built a schoolhouse; installed water systems; built outhouses; established themselves as merchants dealing primarily in merchandise bought from Mexican traders along US 90 while also serving as wagon drivers transporting goods down [the] road into New Mexico Territory during that period! On December 5th, 1885Obed Humble married Anna Wells after she became pregnant with their first child - James Wells (born February 20th 1886). Anna's parents were James Wells Sr., Jane Addams (née Higginbotham), born December 12th 1788 in Suffolk County England – first European American settler in America’s Lone Star State; father John Addams (1753-1831), born January 14th 1768 at Hartford Connecticut - one of five children born to English Quaker parents George Washington Addams (1745-1815) & Hannah Maria Thomas Addams (1748-1813). Her maternal grandparents were Daniel Higginbotham ([date unknown]) & Susanna Smith.[4][5] James' great grandfather was Hugh Thornton Thornton ([date unknown]), also an English Quaker who immigrated aboard HMS Resolution during the Revolutionary War[6].Anna's paternal grandparents were Samuel Houston Houston Sr., Sarah Ann GoodnightHouston ([date unknown]), born October 10th 1800 – daughter of Nicholas “Nico” Houston Jr., age 2nd only surviving son Of Captain Nicolas Houston And Mrs Elizabeth Dickinson Of Milford Haven CT,[7][8] His maternal grandmother Hannah Maria Thomas Dentright ([date unknown]), also baptized October 10th 1800 living prior to her marriage To Capt Samuell Dentright At Milford Haven Ct Also Daughter Of Coles Amherst And Joice Hathorne From NH

Houston, Texas was founded in 1836 by Sam Houston. The city became a republic in 1947 and is the most populous municipality in the United States. The town first grew up around Mission San Antonio de Padua, a Franciscan convent on the edge of what is now Houston. The convent was destroyed by an attack by Native Americans in 1718 and replaced by a mission called La Salle. Humble's growth began slowly due to its location on farmland that had been divided between Anglo-American settlers and Mexican citizens. However, with cotton becoming an important crop in the Lone Star State during the mid-19th century, Humble quickly gained notoriety for being one of America's poorest towns. Nevertheless, through hard work and determination, Humble residents were able to build their own homes and businesses over time. By 1907, Humble had reached 3100 residents and was considered one of Texas' "small towns." In 1936-1937, during World War II., Humble's economy soared when the war created demand for military goods abroad. Businesses such as meatpacking plants and munitions factories mushroomed throughout central Texas; however, many workers came from humble backgrounds or were employed below minimum wage levels; this led to nickname "the huddled masses." In 1951-1952 (twenty years after it incorporation), when Interstate 10 opened up access to downtown Houston from rural areas north of I-10 (and within Southeastern Harris County), Humble experienced another boom period due largely to increased transportation links with downtownHouston via Highway 610/I-10W. This increase also allowed more people living outside metropolitanHouston to find themselves within walking distance of various cultural attractions including museums (e.g., Rice University) as well as supermarkets (e.g., Kroger). The late 20th century saw several large changes occur within Goliad County: First there was annexation into Galveston County in 1965; then Belton Municipality joined Galveston County in 1978; finally Seaworld Park opened its gates on August 15th 1980 making it Gulf Coast's only theme park! These annexations along with other residential developments have contributed greatly towardsHumble's current diversity which can be seen throughout neighborhoods like Midtown Heights/Uptown/West University Place etc...
