It wasn’t until January 1st 1938 that Colt Firearms Manufacturing Co manufacturers revolvers again under license from Texaco incorporation with new name “Patriots Arms Armory Ltd”(PAA). PAA produced revolvers until 1958 when it merged with Smith & Wesson Corporation forming S&W National Corp.(SWN). SWN operated as armories/manufacturing plants across America until 1971 when they were closed due to bankruptcy.. After closure SWN became part of Browning rifle company until 1984 when Browning purchased them outright.. From 1984-1996 Browning purchased most assets from S&W National Corp.(SWN) constituting about 85%of total assets acquired byBrowning Rifle Co(BRC)).
