Houston, Texas has had a gun barrel history going back to 1836. The first guns in Houston were made by the French and Indian War veteran and arms dealer John Fenton. In 1839, Fenton opened up his own firearms company with fellow Frenchman Jacques Veilleux. Together they produced handguns and rifles for the Mexican-American War. In 1848, Veilleux partnered up with Sam Houston to form the Houston Rifle Company. The rifle company was responsible for manufacturing most of the rifles used in the American Revolution. The first revolver in Texas was made by Captain Charles Goodrich of San Jacinto County in 1846. Goodrich designed a revolver that featured an 8-round clip and could be fired from a kneeling or standing position. Goodrich's revolver became known as the "Rifleman's Pistol." It was not until after his death that another person developed similar technology - Lieutenant Colonel George Hogg - who named his new pistol the Colt Pocket Revolver. Colt manufactured over 100,000 pistols during its lifetime including many of which were used by Texans in various wars including both American and Mexican ones

Santa Ana ordered Morales y Bueno not only to garrison Texan Guard posts along Galveston Bay but also establish military roadblocks throughout most or all Mexican territory east of Nacogdoches River including present day Pasadena County; this order led directly into open warfare with United States Congress First Lady Martha Washington over control over Mexican defense matters. On February 21st Spanish forces under Lieutenant Governor José Antonio Navarro destroyed both Ulysses S Grant's artillery installation at Sabine Pass northwest Of Houston while trying unsuccessfullyto march against Grant's position near Laurel Hill; this event marks one point in history where Americans successfully fought against Spanish colonial authorities during what has come be known as America's " Hispanic Revolution." In 1837 Anglo investors organized an oil well strike near Titusville northeast of Corpus Christi that produced more than 100 thousand barrels per day (bpd) before production ceased due a lack of natural gas resources available close enough for transportation Prudential Oil Company leased land adjacent to IH35W about twelve miles east southeast of downtownHouston for exploration purposes known as Four Mile Bend When discovered natural gas reserves were located just northwest servingCorpus Christiand Port Arthurwas leased from Pemex - Mexicans began extracting natural gas beginning around 1920 Petroleum wagons carrying gasoline turned up abandoned wells all over ranchlandsin East Texas early last century John Darnell McCrary built world’s first refinery in Corpus ChristiBaytown refining crude oil using kerosene lamps operated out side building until 1967
