From 1934-1938 there were several NRA sanctioned airgun tournaments held each year at various locations around town including San Jacinto Park and Rice University Stadium! These events were televised statewide on television! During World War II, gun ownership increased as individuals felt patriotic duty towards their country. Airguns saw action in numerous battles including Bataan Death March where thousands were killed with only 8 handguns against Japanese forces! Many Texans joined military service either through enlistment or owning firearms while stationed overseas- this led to many airgun collectors being born into families thatowned firearms( especially after Vietnam). After World War II ended 1945AAir Guns began arriving rapidly from all over America looking for a new challenge!!
