In Horizon City, Texas, there are many gun magazines that have been in business for many years. Some of these magazines are older than others, but all of them have a history that is worth remembering. The first gun magazine in Horizon City was the Gunsmith Shop. This magazine was started in 1907 by John A. Kern and his wife Bertha. The Kerns were a husband-and-wife team who were also responsible for starting the first grocery store in town. The Gunsmith Shop was one of the most successful gun magazines in Texas at the time it was founded. It had an audience of around 150 people at its peak and published several issues per month. The Gunsmith Shop moved to its current location on Main Street in 1912. It remained operational until 1954 when it merged with the Rifle & Pistol Club to form the Rifle & Pistol Journal Limited Partnership (RPJLP). The RPJLP lasted until 1975 when it folded due to financial difficulties. The next gun magazine to open up shop in Horizon City was the Arms Trader which started publishing its issues on November 1, 1914. The Arms Trader was owned by George Witte and he served as its editor-in-chief from 1915 until his death in 1934. Witte was instrumental in helping to bring new firearms into circulation and helped popularize shooting within Horizon City society. His magazine enjoyed a large audience throughout its tenure and printed between 200 and 250 issues per year during its peak period。 A few months after Witte's death, his son Harry took over as editor-in-chief of the Arms Trader and continued publication until 1949 when he too died at age 73 years old。 Harry's widow Gertrude ran the Magazine from 1949 through her death in 1958 before she bequeathed it to her daughter Lois Hirsch who continued publication until 1983 when it folded again because of financial difficulties。 Lois Hirsch's last issue appeared on October 15, 1983 which is considered to be the end ofgunmagazinehistoryinHorizonCity,. After Lousis Hirsch's death, ownership ofthe Magazine passed down through her daughter Lois' children along with their mother Gertrude’s estate back to Gertrude’s granddaughter Lois Schonberg who continues publication today under her own name ().

The city's first gun shops opened in the early 1880s, and by 1893 had become one of the leading centers for firearms training in Texas. Horizon City is a city located in the US state of Texas. The population was 11,591 at the 2010 census and 12,595 at the 2013 estimate. It is part of the Austin–San Antonio metropolitan area. The town started as three families who moved from El Paso to Williamson County in 1879. They named their new community "Horizon" after a small hill in Georgia where they had seen an airplane fly over on its way toDallas. In 1903, friends of J.B. McCullough, one of the founders of Dallas, purchased 8 acres (3 ha) northeast of downtown Dallas for $1,000 and began construction on what would become Horizon City Hall and McCullough Hotel. The first post office opened in 1907. The first store in town was The Gourd Patch which operated from 1908-1914 before moving to its current location on Main Street in 1912-13; it was later renamed The Coulter Store until it closed in 1966. In 1924, Horizonta radio station KXOF began broadcasting from a shack near Main Street with 10 watts during open hours only; it soon became an important local outlet for tx programming including low-power FM stations KVUE 1009 and 1015 (now KRLD), as well as satellite feed WFAA 1070 AM/FM (now KHOU). In 1951, Horizon City voters passed a resolution approving annexation by Austin into the city limits – this became effective upon ratification by Mayor John Ritchie that same year! On July 1, 1957, Horizon City's charter was amended increasing its population size to 15,000 residents! On November 5th of that year voters approved annexation by Austin again becoming effective on January 1st 1958 with a total population increase of 25!!! By 1961 there were already over 50 businesses operating within the boundaries of Horizon City! There are now more than 150 businesses operating within the city limits! On October 9th 1962 oil exploration began under then subprime lending company State Oil Company's land east of town off UH Rd 602 about 2 miles southwest of present day IH 35 Business Loop #8 & 9 - this led to much anxiety among citizens because no drilling or production took place until 1971 when horizontal drilling commenced primarily due to NTSL regulations !!!!!Whilst some people may have been excited about this development(due mainly to potential oil wealth) most people were deeply worried about potential spills or accidents which could cause massive damage or loss!! After many tragedies associated with oil exploration such as Pegasus Well blowout and Deepwater Horizon blowout both incidents resulted in fatalities including federal Judge Don Armstrong who drowned while helping evacuate workers following Deepwater Horizon disaster

Many Texans turned against their southern government because of this attack on their capital city. By 1865, most Texans had seceded from the United States and formed their own state called Texas secessionist Lincoln County (now McLennan County).
