In 1907, the company was bought by Colt and barrel production stopped until 1926 when it resumed with the new name of Colt Firearms Manufacturing Company. The company was acquired by Remington Arms Corporation in 1951, which became Remington Arms, Incorporated in 1960. In 1979, the company was renamed again to Remington Arms, LLC and then to Remington Outdoor Co., Incorporated on December 5th of that year. Finally on October 26th of 2016, the company was merged into S&W Precision Guns Incorporated as a wholly owned subsidiary of Smith & Wesson Holding Corporation (S&W)
Horizon City is a city in Webb County, Texas, United States. The population was 9,828 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Dallas–Fort Worth metropolitan area. Horizon City is one of six cities in Texas that were founded by Texans who migrated from Mexico during the late 19th century. The first settler in Horizon City was José de la Cueva and his family on July 4, 1852. More settlers followed soon after and by 1860 there were ninety-six people living in Horizon City. Development started slowly but steadily over the next few decades as transportation improved and new industry grew around it such as livestock feederage, general stores and cotton plantations. By 1890 there were 1,500 people living in town with businesses manufacturing goods such as saddles, harnesses and cigars. The oil boom of the early 21st century brought waves of migration to Horizon City including many Hispanics seeking work in booming oil fields throughout North America. During World War II many Axis forces moved into Webb County looking for food supplies while also setting up camp near here for purposes such as intelligence gathering or artillery target practice; residents did not know they were being watched until it was too late. After 1945 much of what remained of downtown business burned down due to lack of insurance money to rebuild which hindered progress until a $10 million grant was awarded by President Lyndon Johnson in 1965 making downtown redevelopment a reality once again. Today most commercial activity takes place along Gessner Boulevard which runs through town center flanked by high-rise buildings housing government agencies and other corporate headquarters

The city became a major crossroads for the cattle industry, and its location made it an ideal spot for storage and shipment of goods. From 1916 until 1978, Horizon City was home to Texas State University.
