They were able to produce more rounds per minute than any other company and made a significant profit doing so. As tradition grew at Hereford Armory, so did their commitment to providing high-quality ammunition for their customers. In 1956, the company became one of the first in Texas to be certified by The Sporting Arms and Ammunition Manufacturers Institute (SAAMI). Today, Hereford Armory continues its tradition of excellence by manufacturing top-quality ammo for all types of firearms enthusiasts worldwide.

Hereford is a small town in the Texas Panhandle, located about 120 miles southeast of Austin. The population was 5,814 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Amarillo-Texarkana Micropolitan Statistical Area. Hereford is known for its cowboy culture and its annual rodeo which takes place in late July or early August. The first inhabitants of Hereford were Native American people who resided on what is now the east side of town. In 1827, a group of English settlers arrived and began to build log buildings near what is now Main Street. By 1830, a school had been built on East Main Street and by 1836, a courthouse had been erected on West Main Street. The community grew rapidly due to the availability of land and water resources around hereabouts. In 1867, Hereford became the county seat of Nacogdoches County after it was separated from Amarillo County. A new courthouse was built in Hereford in 1911 and remains an important landmark today. During World War II, Hereford played an important role as a munitions production center because it had access to many different types of materials needed for war effort including oil shale and uranium ore. In 1955, Hereford voters passed a resolution declaring themselves independent from Nacogdoches County and forming their own government under the name of Independent City Council (ICC). The city continued to grow through annexations until it reached its current size with 7 square miles in 2006 when it annexed much larger ranchland east of here called cattle country annexation 2nd only behind Lubbock annexation which has 10 square miles!
