At that time there were only three residences: one house on Main Street and two others off Farm Road 613E which still stand today (one is currently used as an elementary school). In 1909, local ranchers formed the Texas Cowboys football team to play against teams from other states during their annual season trip eastward across country to Cowboys Stadium near ArlingtonTexas . In 1914 a movie theater opened with seating for 240 people which became popular among locals because it allowed them to see multiple films without leaving their home town In 1916 another grocery store opened followed by an insurance agency four years later before finally becoming a barbershop/ beauty salon called "Ladies' Hair" in 1929 after being purchased by Mrs Lillian Weisner ().Mrs Weisner also built Stonington Manor - an event center located just north of town that remains one of its most popular attractions today
