Ammunition history in Haltom City, Texas goes back to the early 1800s. The area now known as Haltom City was one of the original towns in what is now Travis County, Texas. At that time, these areas were part of the Mexican Territory and were under Spanish control. In 1836, Mexico ceded this territory to the United States of America. As a result of this event, there was a large influx of Americans into what is now Travis County and Haltom City became one of their most important settlements. The first ammunition manufacturing plants were set up in nearby Austin in 1857 and 1860. These plants produced both cannonball shot and musket balls for use by American troops in the Mexican-American War (1846-48). In 1865, rifle bullets were also manufactured here for use by American soldiers in the Civil War (1861-65). After the end of World War II (1939-45), more ammunition production came to Haltom City through two new companies that opened up shop here: Winchester Ammunition Company Inc., founded in 1946, and Remington Arms Company Ltd., founded in 1951. Both firms continued producing ammunition until they merged into Winchester Repeating Arms Corporation on October 1st 1997. Today, many locals still remember how good it felt to fire some rounds from an old muzzleloader or shotgun at a local fair or campground during summertime when there wasn’t much else to do around town other than shoot lead balls off logs or stone walls!

Haltom City is a city located in the state of Texas, United States. The population was 971 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Austin-Round Rock metropolitan area. Haltom City was founded on November 15, 1887 by George Haltom and his wife Clarissa Haltom. George had come to Texas from Georgia with his family after being drafted into the U.S. Army in 1866. He and Clarissa started a small grocery store in what is now downtown Haltom City when they first moved there in 1887. They opened a second store on Commerce Street in 1898, which became known as "The Garter." In 1907, they built a two-story frame school building on East Third Street which served as their home until it burned down in 1911. The Haltom City School District purchased the building and used it as their primary school until 1966 when it was replaced by the current high school (now Holtzclaw High School). In 1915, J C Radcliffe donated land for what would become campus of The University of Texas at Austin (UTA). On July 1, 1916 UTA's first class graduated from its one-room school house on Radcliffe Road just east of downtown Haltom City. With nearly 400 students enrolled, UTA's first president was Dr John M Hutcheson who also served as its first vice president and treasurer before becoming chancellor in 1922 On October 20, 1926 UTA became an accredited university with approval from the Higher Learning Commission and changed its name to "University of Texas at Austin". In 1970 UA merged with The University of Oklahoma to form what is now Baylor University . Haltom City, Texas is a city in Webb County, Texas, United States. The population was 7,851 at the 2010 census. Haltom City is part of the Houston–Sugar Land metropolitan area. The community was founded by people who migrated from southern Illinois during the Great Chicago Fire of 1871. They named their new community after General John A. Haltom, who had died in that fire. The first post office opened in 1872 and the first store was built in 1874. In 1902, the community consolidated with neighboring Hempstead to form a large town with a population of 20,000 people. The name "Hempstead" no longer exists within Webb County and it is now known as Sugar Land. In 1907, Haltom City annexed what is now Spring Branch and annexed Brushy Park which became its second largest municipality within Webb County after Spring Branch itself (the first annexation happened in 1886). In 1916-17 when East Houston Growth characterized as an agricultural area being developed east of I-10 near Loop 610 TX (now Sam's Club Dallas), Brushy Park formed an enclave around Elmendorf Road between Brushy Creek and Cypress Creek which also became known as "East Houston". As East Houston growth increased southward on Elmendorf Road past Will Rogers Parkway and into Friendswood/Houston Heights boundaries gridlock began to occur with residents unable or unwilling to leave their enclave for fear they would lose access to essential services such as healthcare and schools located outside their boundaries; eventually this led to brush fires burning throughout much of southeastHouston due to reckless driving by drivers looking for open space sparked by unfounded rumors about potential enclaves insideHouston neighborhoods that were not actually inhabited by any human beings other than animals or other debris left over from earlier oil spills discharging from downtown Houston during the late 1800s through most of the early 1900s until those areas have been redeveloped cleaned up since then including brush fires started intentionally using pre-ignition fireworks devices called sparklers - something we are still seeing today in some limited places across Harris County thanks to irresponsible driving
Haltom City was founded in 1871 by John Haltom and his wife, Rachel. The city was named for Benjamin Harrison, the 25th president of the United States. In 1907, the city became a town when it annexed parts of Dallas.
