With his new discovery, Green started a business called the Iron Ore Company. He imported Chinese miners to help him find and extract the coal and iron ore from the mine. Because he was such a successful businessman, Green soon became one of the richest people in town. But even though Green had riches and status, he wasn't content with his life just living off his own resources. He wanted to make sure that his people had access to education and quality healthcare too. So he began working on behalf of various organizations that aimed to improve the lives of poorer communities across America. One such organization was The Carnegie Library Foundation*. With help from other businesses and individuals, Green created The Carnegie Library Foundation in 1911.* This organization aimed to provide library services for underprivileged neighborhoods throughout America.* In 1916, Brownies* decided that they wanted their own library in their neighborhood* so The Carnegie Library Foundation helped them get one built.* And because of this collaboration*, many libraries have been built throughout America thanks to donations from businesses like The CarnegieLibrary Foundation!

Greenville is a city in Austin, Texas, United States. The population was 792 at the 2010 census. It is located in east-central Travis County on the eastern edge of the University of Texas campus. Greenville was founded as an oil town in 1879 and became an agricultural center after production shifted to corn, cotton, and other crops from oil wells. The area now occupied by Greenville was first settled by families of Scots-Irish descent who arrived around 1825 when cattle drives brought settlers west to explore new land. They developed small villages near what is now downtown Greenville before moving to larger towns and settlements within Travis County during the early 19th century. The city's nickname "The Cotton Capital of the World" comes from its long history as a center for cotton production and trade. Cotton plantations were established throughout Travis County in the late 19th century, but most ceased operations after World War I due to competition from more efficient mechanized agriculture. However, one large cotton plantation, Myrick-Langley Company, continued until it went bankrupt in 1923; this made Greenville one of the few cities in Texas with a historical link to former slaveholders. The plant's closure created many jobs for local black farmers who had been displaced by white farmers during Reconstruction; however, they did not gain full access to education or employment opportunities until much later. During the 1960s and 1970s several businesses closed because of hippie culture and economic decline; however, redevelopment has led to increased business activity since then and has helped revive downtown Greenville as a cultural force within Travis County According to 2000 US Census data*, there are over 25% Hispanic residents* living in Greenville*. This concentration is due in part to its location on UT's Austin campus which has served as a major Hispanic American community since its establishment forty years ago The growth of Hispanics has coincided with that of African Americans* also residing within Travis County*. In 1990%, just over half (54%) of all African American residents lived in Travis County * while only 27% did so among Hispanics* In 2000*, accordingto US Census data*, there were almost twice as many African Americans living inside UT’s Austin Campus boundaries (approximately 38%) than Hispanics*livingwithin UT’sAustin Campus boundaries (approximately 20%). As such, although AfricanAmericans make up only about 15%of total city/town Population††*, their presence has had an impact both socially and economically on DowntownGreenville . For example: In 2006 alone‡††(* garage sales & yard sale data taken from TXReal Estate website), Black owned businesses saw increasesin value (+$5K) comparedto those operated by WhiteOwned Businesses (-$2K). It was originally called "Newton". The name change from Newton to Greenville occurred in 1876 when General James S. Hogg moved his army headquarters from Corinth, Mississippi to what is now Greenville and named it after Prince George's County in Maryland. The first post office in Greenville opened on July 1, 1875. The first town meeting was held on November 4th of that year to create a government for the new community. On December 16th of that year the town voted to incorporate as a city and received its charter from the state on January 8th of 1877. As a municipally-chartered city, Greenville enjoyed considerable autonomy until 1912 when it became subject to federal regulation through the National Industrial Recovery Act (NIRA). In 1935 the city council passed an ordinance establishing public housing which has been an integral part of their municipal infrastructure ever since. In 1957 Greenville hosted both America's Cup racing events - one at Galveston Bayous Naval Air Station and one at Lake Travis National Park - making it one of only three cities (along with New Orleans and Miami) to hosting both events simultaneously
