Grapevine holster history dates back to the 1870s when a man named Samuel W. French started a business in Grapevine that made holsters for police and other law enforcement officials. The company continued to operate until it was sold to the Swisher Manufacturing Company in 1938. At Swisher, the holsters were manufactured under the name "Swisher's Texas Holsters." In 1957, Swisher merged with Colt Firearms Corporation, creating Colt-Hco Inc. Throughout its years of operation, Colt-Hco produced many different types of handguns including revolvers and semiautomatic pistols. In 1984, Colt-Hco merged with Browning firearms company forming Browning Firearms Corporation. Browning Firearms Corporation produces both revolvers and semiautomatic pistols in various calibers including 9mm Luger and .45 ACP.
Grapevine, Texas is a small town located in Medina County, Texas. The population was 1,542 as of the 2010 census. It is part of the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area. The first settlers in Grapevine were Baptist missionaries led by Elder James W. Hogg from Hendersonville, Tennessee. In 1879, when Medina County was created from parts of Dallas and Kaufman Counties, Grapevine became part of Medina County. In 1907, the city of Grapevine was founded on what is now the east side of Park Boulevard. The city grew rapidly because it had easy access to both railroad tracks and water supplies needed for farming and ranching in this rural area. The city also developed industries such as papermaking and shoe manufacturing until World War II when all these activities switched to military production due to the importance of oil resources in that region during that time period. After the war ended, many people left the cities for rural life because there were no jobs available in those areas due to technological advances that had occurred since then such as television and automobiles which made life much more difficult for farmers who could not compete with those products without having to use large machines or being able to commute long distances

Grapevine, Texas is a small town in Fort Worth County, Texas. The population was 2,211 at the 2010 census. The name, grapevine or white grapevine, comes from the Spanish word for "wire." The first post office in Grapevine opened on February 17, 1879. The town was founded by settlers from Illinois and Indiana who crossed the Red River into what is now Fort Worth County on horseback and wagon after hearing about land grants available for ranching in this area. In 1881, the first store was built and rail service arrived to carry goods to Dallas and other nearby cities. By 1905, grapevine had a population of over 100 residents and two churches were operating. In 1916 local rancher Wm. Henson donated land to form North Afton Park which included a golf course-today's North Arlington Stadium-fitness center-. This park served as a social gathering ground for farmers and their families until it was annexed by Fort Worth in 1959 when that city's boundary changed due to annexation of other smaller towns within its boundaries. During World War II much of Grapevine was used as an airfield by the United States military with many homes being converted into barracks while others were used as stores or movie theaters duringthe war years. In 1948 parts of Grapevine were incorporated into what is today Fort Worth; however much of its history remains intact including its downtown district which retains most if not all of its original architecture dating back to pre-war days when grapevines formed part of English settlements along the Red River Valley south of present day Dallas
The Grapevine area was first inhabited by the Lipan Apache in the late 1800s. In 1892, a post office was established at the intersection of U.S. Highway 281 and Texas State Highway 191, which later became Grapevine Boulevard. The first grocery store opened in 1907, and by 1915, there were six businesses in the area. By 1923, grape production had become an important industry in the community. The population of Grapevine peaked at over 10,000 in 1940, but declined to less than 6,000 by 1970.
