In 1892, a group of Americans traveled to Grapevine, Texas, in order to purchase an airgun. The airguns they purchased were called “Rifle-Airguns.” Rifle-Airguns were designed for hunting small game. They used a rifle stock with a long barrel that allowed the shooter to point the gun at their quarry and pull the trigger. These guns were not very accurate but were very easy to use. During World War II, many people in Grapevine decided that they needed an airgun in order to duck during bombings and other wartime activities. In 1945, the first ever military airburst took place in Grapevine when American bombers dropped leaflets over the city using fighter jets asdropping bombs on targets near downtown. The bombardier of one of these planes was required to enter into ground combat so he could direct his plane’s bomb load by holding down a button on his control panel while flying over the target area; this led directly to the city being bombed!

The original settlers in Grapevine were Presbyterian missionaries who arrived there in 1871. They founded a mission station on the banks of the Trinity River and named it after one of their own: Irvine (today's Plano). The first post office was opened in 1872. In 1902, Grapevine incorporated as a city. Grapevine became well known for its grape production and wine sales before moving into other industries such as automotive manufacturing and ranching. Grapevine is a small town in east Texas, located on the banks of the Red River. The population was 2,692 as of the 2010 census. Grapevine started as a Native American settlement, called Yanktonahee by the local tribe. In 1837, General Andrew Jackson sent an expedition to conquer Texas and discover new land. The party discovered grape vines growing wild in what is now Grapevine, and decided to plant them for wine production. The grape industry continued to grow throughout the 19th century, and by 1905 there were more than 1,500 vineyards in Grapevine County. The townsite at which Grapevine now stands was settled in 1865 by James Kellar and his family. At first it was just a farmstead with a few buildings - only one still stands today as part of the town’s cultural heritage: Kellar’s Store (now known as Weisman Art Museum). In 1892, during World War I, Grapevine became an important military base due to its location on the Sam Houston Toll Road. After the war ended, many businesses moved out of town but continued to operate until they closed down or were sold off during Prohibition times (1912-1921). However, most of these businesses have since been replaced or updated by newer ones within the community itself. One significant event that took place in Grapevine during prohibition was when floodwaters destroyed most of downtown (although some stores managed to stay open) and forced many residents into makeshift shelters on top of churches and other landmarks. This gave rise to what is considered “the Great Disaster” of prohibition: It also marked one of the earliest examples where people used social media platforms like Twitter and Instagramto communicate about their experiences living through prohibition period materials like photos and videos taken during that time Some believe that this disaster may have helped spark civic activism leading up to repeal efforts after 1933; however no evidence exists supporting this claim There are numerous restaurants that remain open from pre-prohibition days such as The Goodfellas Italian Restaurant & Pizzeria which still serves pizza nightly even though Prohibition ceased 115 years ago!
The first settlers in Grapevine, Texas were the Keytes. The Keytes arrived in 1839 and started a small farm near what is now Grapevine. By 1845, the Keytes had moved to a more permanent location and started a new farm named Pleasant Hill. In 1849, the Keytes bought land from David Hogg for $1,000 and started another farm named Fountain Hills. They also bought land from Samuel Houston for $2,000 in 1850. The keyt family kept their properties until 1865 when they sold all their holdings to John Cramer.
