Glenn Heights is a small town in Tarrant County, Texas, about 20 miles (32 km) east of Fort Worth. It was founded in 1879 by farmers who moved from the eastern part of the state to escape the Texas Revolution. The community became known for its sturdy homes and well-maintained streets. By 1919, Glenn Heights had a population of 350 people and was home to two churches, one Methodist and one Baptist. In 1948, Glenn Heights annexed portions of neighboring towns growth including Hurstville. With the exception of a few years during World War II when it was occupied by Japanese Americans, Glenn Heights has always been an agricultural town with primary industry being farming and ranching. The history of Glenn Heights can be traced back to 1879 when farmers migrated from eastern parts of Texas to escape the turmoil that followed the Mexican-American War. The first inhabitants were African Americans who worked on farms in what is now Glen Heights. Over time, white settlers came into town and began building their homes. In 1918, when Glen Heights annexed portions of neighboring townsgrowth including Hurstville, it became one of the most diverse communities in Tarrant County. During World War II Glenn Heights lived through someof the darkest days in American history as it was occupation by Japanese Americans from 1942-1945. However despite this difficulty many residents still fought for their country during that time period providing vital services such as food storage and airmen supply depot work sites at nearby Beaumont Army Airfield

Glenn Heights is a small town in Wise County, Texas, United States. The population was 1,611 at the 2010 census. Glenn Heights was founded by Scots-Irish immigrants in 1881. The community name is derived from "Glen", which means "hills" in Scottish Gaelic and refers to the hills that dot the town's border with McLennan County. Glen Heights is located on U.S. Route 183 south of Austin and east of Waco. The first settlers were farmers who arrived from Ireland about 1881. They built log homes near what is now Glen Heights mall and started a grocery store and post office there in 1886. By 1889, they had erected a schoolhouse, blacksmith shop, barns and other buildings used today as public housing for Glenn Heights residents or employed locals. In 1893, the local railroad reached Glen Heights with a branch line to Cedar Park northeast of Austin – making it possible for people living in Glenn Heights to work in downtown Austin without leaving their homes! In 1908, when Waco was designated as the new capital of Texas, the community vote decided that Waco should be its initial hometown instead ofAustin due to its proximity to then Beaumont along I-35W (now Interstate 35E). The original inhabitants of Glenn Heights voted not to secede from Wise County during World War II because they thought it would be dangerous for them outside their home county – something that has still not been proven! In 1948, when Richards Air Force Base opened nearby adjacent to Glenn Heights Elementary School (later renamed Richards Air Force Base Elementary/Secondary School), many military families chose Glenn Heights as their main base until they moved away after serving their tour or deployments elsewhere; this led to an increase in business activity around Glen Heights Mall throughout the 1950s through 1960s which helped contribute $1 million annually toward school district finances by 1970! Glenn Heights was founded in 1892 by John Glenn and his family. The town was named for the prominent American patriot, Glenn who helped lead the United States into World War I. The town quickly developed as a farming community with a population of around 200 people. In 1922, the Glenn family donated land to become the nucleus of what would become Glenbrook Village. Since then, Glenbrook Village has grown and evolved into one of Texas' most vibrant communities.
