The original house on this property was replaced by the current one in 1915. In 1892, the first school building for the Gloverstown Branch of the Methodist Episcopal church was erected on what is now Second Street (northwest corner of Third and Fourth Streets). This school served local students until 1907 when it was moved to its present site across Avenue Q (east/west of Third Street) within walking distance of all nine homes in Gloverstown Elementary School District #5 which included Glen Oaks Elementary School #1-5, Highland Park Middle School #6-8, Eagleville High School #9-11 and White Sands Jr./Sr High School #12-14; all within easy reach from each other because Route 9 ran along Avenue Q between these elementary schools." In 1942 when Lane Hinton became mayor he donated land near Boulevard I (now Old Gilmore Highway) for a new high school west side Gibson Road as well as athletic fields for both sexes with football diamond set off by driveways and buildings used as classrooms; Hillcrest Stadium being built adjacent to this newer high school." After World War II ended enrollment at Hillcrest Stadium dropped so demolished high school was converted into apartments; current Glendale Drive ahead retains part of previous stadium's footprint." future plans call for demolition or renovation of old Highpoint stadium complex including track & field facilities and possible housing development around campus"
