Glenn Heights is a small town in Collin County, Texas, United States. The population was 1,815 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Austin-Round Rock metropolitan area. Glenn Heights is well known for its Presbyterian churches and schools. The town was founded in 1881 by Scotsman James Glendon. The first post office was established in 1882 and the first store opened in 1884. In 1896, Glenn Heights became a city with a population of 2,000 people. The city charter was granted on December 8, 1898. On May 22, 1903, Glenn Heights merged with nearby Marble Falls to form one larger municipality with a population of 6,000 people. On January 16, 1907, Glenn Heights annexed the unincorporated communities of Hinton and Westover. By 1910 the population had reached 10,000 people and on November 17 that year it passed 20 thousand residents mark and became an independent municipality called Glen Heights City limits were extended to include portions of Round Rock southward to Interstate 35W which then divided into two lanes making it possible for one municipality to have two jurisdictions within its borders without having to annex more villages or townships again; this annexation happened because there were no other municipalities willing or able to provide services such as policing or water supply that would be needed for an all-encompassing merger like this one In 1913 Glen Heights Valley Agricultural Light Company began operations chopping down trees near present day Lamar High School so they could build their own estate in what is now downtown Glen Heights (the beautiful homes still stand today). A branch line from Hunt's Station ran through town until 1937 when highway construction replaced it making life much easier for everyone living east of I-35W In 1945 local resident Caryl Jane Addams donated land in southwest corner of town Hermitage Park off Loop 410 which served as her home from 1941 until her death in 1964 . She left behind instructions that her ashes should be scattered over Altoona west side but due to heavy rains over Memorial Day weekend 1997–1998 she has finally been moved back east along I-35W into central park across from Central Library

Glenn Heights is a small town in Bastrop County, Texas, United States. The population was 1,521 at the 2010 census. The name is derived from Glenn Ford, about which little else is known. It has been reported that the first settler in Glenn Heights was John Ford who arrived in 1836. A post office called Glenn Heights was established in 1837 and remained in operation until it closed in 1903. The town site was surveyed by George Wacoal and named for him after his brother-in-law, General James Hogg (1793–1868), general officer of the Texas Rangers during the early stages of the Mexican War and later governor of Coahuila y Tejas. In 1872, Hogg's widow donated land to form what became Glenn Heights Park. The most significant event to occur within Glenn Heights boundaries happened on October 10th, 1902 when a group of local farmers formed an agricultural cooperative known as "The Glen Oaks Cooperative Farm". This cooperative would become one of the largest cotton farming operations in the state and remain so until it merged with another cooperative two years later. A post office named Glen Heights opened on November 6th, 1903 and continued operations until it closed on December 3rd, 1906 due to lack of mail volume from nearby Bastrop. At its closure, there were only 8 residents living within walking distance of downtown Glenn Heights; today this number has dwindled to 4 or 5 due to development within the town limits since then! On July 2nd, 1916 Hurricane Joaquin destroyed much of Bastrop County including much of Glen Heights; however little damage occurred within the village itself! The town hall still stands today but serves as community center for nearby Pecos Hills Village!
