Glenn Heights is a small town in Medina County, Texas, United States. The population was 2,754 at the 2010 census. Glenn Heights is located in the Midland Hills neighborhood of Fort Worth. The original Glenn Heights community was laid out around 1881 by John Sievers and his son-in-law Harry Wertheimer. Glenn Heights was named after General George Custer's birthplace in Montana, Kansas. The Sievers family operated an agricultural land operation there until their death in 1928. At that time, Glenn Heights became a bedroom community for Fort Worth because of its close proximity to the military garrison and other businesses then located near downtown Fort Worth. In 1959, Western Electric Company moved its headquarters from Dallas to Glen Oaks (the site now occupied by Duncan Aviation). This left Glen Heights with little hope of becoming again a bedroom community as technology spread out across the nation and new companies began to locate in larger cities such as Dallas and Houston. However, it did become home to several small businesses before declining enrollment forced it into receivership in the early 2000s and later bankruptcy. In 2006, developers announced they were planning to build 1 million square feet of mixed use development on land formerly belonging to Western Electric Company off Hwy 114 just south of I-10 exit 232A/Fort Worth Parkway east of FM 559/Glen Oaks Drive; this would be called "The Summit". After years of talks between developer Alain Dubucq and Mayor Pete Buttigieg about developing The Summit into an urban center for residents living within walking distance of mass transit options such as DART or METROplex/University Park Station - including programming for children aged 6–18 years old - progress has been made on making The Summit a reality starting with preliminary engineering work which is expected to begin next year followed by full design submission in late 2018 or early 2019 once all approvals have been received from city officials including zoning board members who are currently reviewing design plans; construction could begin some time after that depending on weather conditions According to recent reports from developers working on The Summit project there may also be another development proposal being considered adjacent to I-10 Exit 232A known as "The Shops" which would include office space above restaurants serving fresh local produce along with retail concepts such as clothing stores targeting both men’s and women’s wear along with various entertainment spaces like movie theaters etc.; this development is still under consideration by developers but no final decisions have yet been made

The town began as a migrant farm community established by white immigrants from Massachusetts and New York City in the early 1800s. The original settlers were Methodist ministers who founded a church and school in 1827.
Glenn Heights was founded in 1885 by Presbyterians. The town is named for General James Glenn, who fought in the Mexican-American War and received the Medal of Honor. The town experienced growth during the late 1800s and early 1900s as a result of its rich agricultural history. In 1907, Glenn Heights became an independent municipality.
