Georgetown, Texas is a city located in Gonzales County, Texas, United States. The population was 10,951 at the 2010 census. Georgetown was founded on November 7, 1845 by James L. Marshall and his family. It became a municipality on December 5 of that year. In 1907, the Gonzales County seat was transferred from Georgetown to New Braunfels and Georgetown lost its status as a municipality. The original town site lay in what is now the northeast corner of Gonzales and Smith Counties and extended along the banks of the Brazos River to its present-day limits in Thompson & Worth Counties east of Interstate 35W. A post office was established at Georgetown on February 17, 1846 by Elijah Denton with six Mail Pouch stamps from San Antonio de Bexar; it served until October 9, 1865 due to postal reform which eliminated mail service between Washington D.C., Austin (the state capital), and San Antonio de Bexar. In 1861 John Sutter arrived in what is now Georgetown with his Mormon Battalion during the American Civil War and began construction of Fort Stockton just north of town on land donated by president James Kenedy himself; this fortification helped protect Gonzales County against Confederate attack during the war years but failed to prevent raids by raiders such as the Bear Lake Bandits who destroyed many homes and crops near stockyards near town before ending their operations in 1865 after being outbid for supplies by Union forces under General Ulysses S Grant. On July 3, 1881 Trinity College Seminary opened an institute known as Harper's Ferry School for Girls adjacent to present day Stonington Drive NW within what is now Holy Cross Episcopal Church property just west of Main Street NW inside today's University Park Cemetery across from George Washington High School which still uses part of Harper's Ferry school building as its/his main campus gymnasium today while also housing some classrooms used for college preparatory classes since 1970 while also serving as home to various offices including Jeff Sessions' campaign headquarters when he ran for US Senate in 2016 According to The Chronicle Review newspaper article "A Look Back At An American Institution" published on September 2nd 2006 that covered 40th anniversary commemoration events marking fifty years since Harper's Ferry Seminary first opened; "For more than two centuries Harpers Ferry School has been providing girls with an education beyond traditional brick-and-mortar schools...It [Harper's Ferry] had humble beginnings: A schoolmaster offered pupils tuition for three dollars per week." The seminary closed its doors effective May 6th 1984 due primarily to changing demographics within Southwest Texas where most women were moving into jobs outside their homes having gained access through public education programs established following passage of Public Law 93-241 giving all women access to high school education regardless of social class or economic background lawFIRST! One hundred thirty five years later partaking students currently attend various postsecondary institutions throughout TX thanks largely (in large part) because State Legislators passed House Bill 442 On January 25th 2013 reopening Harper’s Ferry Seminary reinspected finding “significant deficiencies” not only with respect To faculty but curriculum implemented since closure including lack Of creativity And innovation As well AS lack OF accountability resultant In extreme case Of student protest Ending up crippling program Which impacted whole community For generations!

The modern flashlight was first invented by Arthur Crouch in 1897 while working on a project for General Electric Company’s new XM Radio Service. Crouch designed an inexpensive handheld instrument that could create enough illumination to see things at night without using any lights outside of your car or house
