Gatesville is located in Gates County, Texas. The population of Gatesville was 9,879 at the 2000 census. The town was founded in 1876 by John and Sarah Gates. It has since grown to be a major center for commerce and industry in the area. In recent years, Gatesville has become known for its annual "Gun show" which attracts many businesses and individuals from around the region to attend.
Gatesville, Texas is a small town in Tarrant County, Texas, United States. The population was 1,898 at the 2010 census. Gatesville is part of the Fort Worth–Arlington–Denton Metropolitan Statistical Area. It is located on Interstate 10 and TX-10 east of Arlington. The first settler in Gatesville date back to 1847 when James Fenton and his family arrived from Ohio. They founded a log cabin that still stands today near what is now FM 727 south of town. From here they started trading goods with other settlers in the area and soon enough they had a store and post office open for business. In 1854 James Fenton married Sarah Cobb and together they established a home on present day US-1970s SW corner of SW 2nd Street & I-10 just outside Gatesville proper. Over time their home became one of the most popular places to live in Gatesville as it offered easy access to all that the surrounding countryside had to offer including forests, streams, farmland, etcetera; as well as being close enough to town so that residents could get about their business without having to leave their homes or go out into miles of empty prairie! In 1880 Isaac Morse set up shop down South 2nd Street from where he lived until his death in 1935; this store was eventually replaced by First National Bank which still stands today across SW corner 2nd Street & I-10 (now an apartment complex). Throughout its history First Nationalbank has been an important part of the community through its lending capabilities and donations made towards various local charities such as school construction projects or relief efforts during natural disasters like Hurricane Ike or tornado outbreaks like Harvey! It wasn’t until 1922 when Wm Hesseman opened up his own grocery store right next door to First Nationalbank; this store would later become known as Hesseman’s Variety Store (later shortened to simply “Hess”). At first Hess' grocery only sold groceries but over time he began selling items like hardware, clothing, appliance supplies etcetera along with occasional concert tickets or carnivals! In 1948 Wm Hesseman passed away leaving behind two sons who ran the store jointly for many years before it closed its doors for good in 1984 (& later reopened under new ownership). During these years both stores were managed by various employees who helped contribute greatly towards making sure both businesses continued providing quality customer service even after retirement! (Please see photo below) In recent years there have been several construction projects happening around town which have really helped boostGateville's economy & visibility; some examples include: The Gateway Project which renovated/Updated many public buildings within Gatevilian limits including our jail system & Main Street Jail; also added new parking lot capacity for local businesses nearby; The reconstructed old post office building which houses numerous local shops including our favorite - Our Lady Of Guadalupe Catholic School wherein students are currently working on 3 project classes simultaneously - This renovation/update also includes brand new classrooms/sanitation facilities adjacent thereto as well as additional office space for teachers/staff! There are currently active renovations going on at our high school too – check back often because we know you'll be excited about what's coming next! Lastly but certainly not least – our newest development project underway inside Gatevilian itself – this project involves revamping our entire infrastructure including adding more parking spaces, expanding sidewalks & streetscapes etc.; we believe this will help create even more jobs & economic stability withinGatevilian overall!)

Gatesville is a small town in McLennan County, Texas, United States. The population was 514 at the 2010 census. Gatesville was founded in 1877 by John A. Gates and his family. The town name comes from an early settler's idea that if they built a post office near the forks of the Brazos River, people would visit both locations more often and refer to their community as "Gatesville." The first store in Gatesville opened in 1878. By 1880, there were three stores and two churches in the community. In 1886, Gatesville became the county seat of McLennan County after it was chosen by vote from residents of nearby towns. Today, Gatesville still has its own courthouse and government building downtown. In 1914, Gatesville became home to Texas Instruments Incorporated (TI) when it moved from Dallas to McLennan County and purchased land east of town for its new headquarters. TI remains headquartered here today with over 100 employees located on five campuses across four counties: Tower Campus (near downtown), West Campus (northwest of town), South Campus (southwest of town), East Campus (east of town), and I-10 Campus (in suburban Pearland).
Gatesville was founded in 1836 by General William T. Sherman and his army during the Mexican-American War. The town was named for Samuel Gates, a brigadier general in the Union army who fought at Palo Alto and Monterrey. In 1881, Gatesville became a county seat of Gates County, Texas.
