During World War II several hundred thousand American soldiers were relocated to Ft Worth within commuting distance from Frisco so that they could be used in munitions production. During this time period some Ofcinal buildings were constructed withinFriscolandenCity limits but no public infrastructure was created specifically for military use like post office or airport which would have been necessary if such large numbers of troops had been stationed permanently within town boundaries (see: franco Airport).
