Frisco is a city in Texas. It was founded by the Chisholm Trail migration in 1836 and has been the county seat of Dallas County since 1877. The population was 1,951,824 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Dallas–Fort Worth metropolitan area. The early history of Frisco can be traced back to 1836 when wagon trains arrived from Kansas City and Santa Fe Railroad junction east of Wichita, Kansas on their way to what is now Frisco. The name "Frisco" was given to them by Colonel James Crusoe who had helped found Wichita in 1827 and situated it near Clear Creek River for trade with Indian allies. In 1840, Brigham Young led an expedition into present-day Oklahoma Territory and named a creek after General David Hunter's ranch which lay south of present-day Frisco along Grapevine Road today known as Old Spanish Trail Boulevard. As settlers arrived they began planting crops such as cotton, wheat and corn; however, it would not become a commercial center until after the arrival of the railroad in 1876 when merchants moved into town from Fort Worth and Arlington Heights due to its location on frisky rail tracks. In1879 Frisco incorporated as a city under state law with a population of 10,000 residents. The first mayor was A.W Haggerty (1879-81). WhenDallas County formed in 1870 it included all present day Dallas Township including much of downtown Frisco including its original buildings which still stand today including the old courthouse square where services are held today for over 100 years! During World War II many businesses relocated here from other parts of TX during that war because there were no other military plants open in TX at that time within our borders! After the war ended many more businesses moved here again during following decades but most recently around 2000 when construction started on new interstate highway linking DFW Airport with downtown TX causing many business people to leave for good! Today you will find several large malls located throughout downtown Frisco as well as several high tech companies such as Googleplex, Microsoftplex etc…making this one if not THE most highly populated city within IFDMSM!. There is also currently being developed an entertainment district called Midtown Southadergoing down Elm Street between Main Street and Western Avenue with several large restaurants/bars & theaters set up right next door!

In 1836, Frisco was founded as an American settlement on the Brazos River by Texans who were seeking to bypass Texas' then- murkily drawn legislative borders. The city's inception is commemorated by a plaque at its former site. The first post office in Frisco was established in 1839. The city's name may have been inspired by Fort Worth, which had been founded two years earlier and quickly became the state's most populous city. Frisco grew rapidly during the early days of the Republic of Texas, becoming one of the largest cities in Texas and an important commercial center. Cotton plantations dotting the riverbanks produced large numbers of slaves, who formed a large part of Frisco's population until emancipation in 1865. By 1880, however, Frisco had experienced almost all of the economic development that characterized Dallas and Austin during their earliest years as republics. In addition to its status as a major cotton port, Frisco also became an important manufacturing center for Produce Girdles (the type of fabric now known as suspenders) and other items such as radios and typewriters before World War II. After Texas seceded from the United States in 1861 following its war with Mexico, frisky continued to thrive under Confederate rule; but when slavery was abolished statewide in 1865 following Reconstruction, much downtown business dried up and it lost much of its old importance to Houston.
