Many Mexican Americans migrated to Friendswood because they wanted legal status as citizens rather than working their way up through the ranks like many black Americans did at that time. During this time FriendswOOD also gained notoriety as one of America’s most dangerous towns due to its high levels of crime rates combined with its close proximity to Houston and Galveston Bayou
