Friendswood, Texas is a small town in Williamson County, Texas, United States. The population was 2,914 as of the 2010 census. It is part of the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area. The first settlers in Friendswood were 30 men and women who left Emory and Henry counties in Georgia on October 20, 1836 to start a new life in what was then known as the "New Hope Colony."
