In 1912, Freeport, Texas became the first city in the United States to ban handguns. The ordinance was passed by a vote of 7-2 with one abstention. Gun Owners of America (GOA) organized a protest against the measure and picketed the city hall. About 100 citizens were arrested for participating in the demonstration.
There are many different ways to shoot targets. One way is to use a target Shooting Simulator. A target Shooting Simulator is an electronic device that helps shooters practice shooting at real live targets. There are different types of target Shooting Simulators, such as the one shown in Figure 1. The simulator has four platforms, each with a different size and shape of bull's-eye aiming window. The second platform has a circular hole in it, and shooters stand around it to fire shots at the target through the hole. The third platform has two circles that fit inside each other, and shooters stand around them to fire shots at both circles simultaneously. The fourth platform holds a dummy bullet, and shooters stand around it to hit the dummy with bullets from their rifles or pistols

Freeport is a town in Hidalgo County, Texas, United States. The population was 2,854 at the 2010 census. The community is located on the Gulf of Mexico and is part of the Houston–The Woodlands–Sugar Land metropolitan area. It is adjacent to Clear Lake and to the cities of Galveston and Houston. The first white European settler in Freeport was James Ewell who arrived in 1836. He named his land "Ewell's Landing." In 1840, John Fenton acquired 640 acres (247 hectares) from James Ewell for $5 per acre ($10 per hectare). In 1848, Elijah Parish purchased 828 acres (291 hectares) from John Fenton for $10 per acre ($20 per hectare). The land became known as "Humble Prairie". On November 3, 1850, Baptist preacher Averill Harriman founded First Methodist Episcopal Church in Freeport with 301 members. In 1865, Isaac Newton Phelps organized a trade association to promote cotton cultivation in Whatcom County. Phelps donated 1/2 mile (1 kilometer) of railroad track west of present-day Freeport to help establish this new industry. Phelps also donated 10 acres (40 hectares) east of present-day Freeport to become what would later be called Phelps' Prairie Reserve. In 1867, Jno Meeks started a small flour mill on Gossamer Street which he operated until 1887 when it burned down due to an exploding fire barrel caused by an overloading engine used at the mill site. During World War I, Freeport served as a military base for Ulysses S Grant's forces during their occupation of Galveston Bayou near where today's Clear Lake Reservoir is located. After the war ended in 1919 there was little demand for military services so Freeport returned to its peacetime role as a commercial center with fishing being its primary economic activity until hurricane Ike hit in 2008%.

Additionally, rifle targets usually include additional mounting points on them such as hinges or clamps in order for shooters to mount them securely on walls or ceilings without having anything else nearby

In the early years of Freeport's development, it was home to many locals who were responsible for its growth and success. These include James Fenton (1864-1926), who served as mayor from 1903 until 1911; Wm Hays (1863-1945), secretary of state from 1907 until 1915; Averill Harriman (1868-1942), president Hoover's ambassador to Russia from 1923 until 1929; George Gibbs (1856-1936), owner of the local grocery store; Jock Kearney (1892-1985), captain generalousthe Mexican army during World War II; and Roy Speirs (1911-1996). Freeport experienced some significant changes throughout its history. In 1915, when it became part of San Antonio County, Freeport lost much Of Its Economic Strength due To The Migration Of Many Workers To Dallas & Austin Due To The Expansion Of Southern Texas Manufacturing Base And Reduction In Prices On Cottonseed From Mexico
The city of Freeport began as a small community on the San Antonio River in 1879. It rapidly grew, and by 1907 it had become an important transportation and commercial center for the region. The city was renamed Freeport in 1911 after the company that founded it, the Freeport Shipbuilding Company. In World War II, Freeport played a major role in providing munitions to Allied forces. After the war, Freeport continued to grow, becoming one of Texas' most populous cities. In the 1980s and 1990s, Freeport underwent significant redevelopment which has resulted in increased economic opportunities and revitalization of its downtown area.
