Fredericksburg, Texas is home to one of the most significant Laser Sight history in the United States. In 1967, Fredericksburg became an annex of Austin, Texas and Laser Sight history there began. They named their new town after General George Washington's army officer and mentor, Robert E. Lee. The incorporation of Fredericksburg brought much growth to the community over the years; it has since become one of Tarrant County's most popular tourist destinations due to its historical attractions andenery along with its wide variety of restaurants, shops and services available within easy walking distance of each other. The town was founded by farmers who grew corn, wheat and cotton on their land that had been donated by General Sam Houston (the namesake for Harris County). A post office called Fredericksburg was established in 1871, but no mail arrived until 1876 because there wasn't a road through the area then! The name honored General Washington's army unit which fought at Monterrey against Mexico City defenders under Lt.-Gen Antonio López de Santa Anna on July 6th 1836 - only days before his death at San Jacinto Battlefield in Texas where heidal general Texan James Bowie fatally shot him instantly! In early 1907 local citizens organized a Ladies' Auxiliary Club which met once a week at Mrs Gertrude Blankenship's home adjacent to her grain elevator/marketplace (now known as "The Queen"). Club members enjoyed socializing with neighbors while helping out at local businesses such as Mrs Blankenship's store or picking up groceries for their families from herGlobe grocery store across Main Street from today’s Post Office building - all prior to First Baptist Church being built downtown in 1908! Club meetings typically attract about 50-70 women who attend including refreshments following each meeting before adjournment back to Mrs Blankenship’s home for more shopping fun! ladies would frequently leave their homes mid-week dressed informally in ‘night clothes’ just long enough to get their carpooling children dropped off at school before continuing onward into busy Hermitage Neighborhood or later riding north on IH 35W all evening en route home!! Today many lovely Amish Folk living near our interchange still follow this late night club ride home tradition!) After years of organizing Committee Meetings & disbanding when no one showed up we glad we finally got someone Organized [in 1911] when Rev Knausensen came thru from Austin so things started really happening here folks !! We played softball together & hung out together afterwards until he got married [Mrs Knausensen died suddenly young without any kids] so then it was officially ‘The Fredericksburg Ladies’ Auxiliary Club Incorporated’ !! ha ha quite an eventful history doesn't it?

In 1930, when it merged with Austin-based Lamar University to form Lamar University–Austin,Fredericksburg became one of its founding universities. Over time, Fredericksburg has experienced various gentrification trends that have led to increased competition from neighboring cities such as Austin and San Antonio. However, despite these challenges, Fredericksburg is still an important cultural and economic center in central Texas.
In 1836, the Republic of Texas was founded and in 1839, the first census was taken. In 1840, the Republic of Texas was annexed by Mexico and in 1845, it was designated as part of the United States. The parish of Fredericksburg formed from parts of Fayette County on November 15th, 1861 during the American Civil War. On April 14th 1865, Confederate forces attacked Union troops at Fredericksburg and after a bloody battle that lasted three days, most of Fredericksburg surrendered. Despite this defeat, many Confederate officers were captured and executed.
