Fredericksburg is a small town in Cameron County, Texas, United States. The population was 1,813 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Austin–Round Rock metropolitan area. The town was founded in 1881 by John Wesley Fredericks and named after his father-in-law, General James Shields Fredericks. It was first located on the east bank of the San Antonio River about two miles (3 km) south of present day Fredericksburg. In 1907, it moved to its current location on Albert Pike just west of I-35E. The name "Fredericksburg" is derived from General James Shields Fredericks who served as Governor of Texas from 1847 until his death in 1858 and also became an ancestor of John Wesley Frederick who founded the town. The original courthouse building which still stands today was built in 1886 by J W Fenton and unusually for that time it had four stories with a basement providing office space for up to twenty employees plus ample storage for goods arriving by boat or train on the river crossing near where it stands today. One story tall courts were used for trials until 1911 when a new courthouse was built for $500,000 including land donated by local banker and future Mayor A C Hoggs Jr.. That building remains standing to this day as does another large structure erected in 1927/28 called "the old hotel". In 1936 both structures were destroyed by fire but reconstruction began immediately using plans provided by then Cameron County Judge John Laddell which included the addition of a third story to both courthouses and traditional courthouse square now known as Park Square followed by further expansion into what are now northside streets within what had been downtown central business district before being rechristened Park Plaza South during 1971/72 major renovation project funded entirely with private donations including many contributions from Mayor A C Hoggs Jr.. It should be noted that while all three buildings have been preserved there have not been any recent updates or additions made to those structures since their construction more than seventy years ago making them some of oldest extant buildings in Cameron County! Today much like back then local farmers raised chickens, pigs and cattle on wide open pastures leaving their manure behind which would later be turned into fertilizer which would give rise to yet another industry that flourishes today; farming! Today's agriculture includes cereal production such as corn, beans, wheat and rice; hay products such as straw bale llamas; cotton; sorghum; pumpkins etc.; livestock feedlots including Brahman cows raised for meat only or Holstein calves fed grass air/grain (a type 2 diet high in fiber); hogs rooting out brush piles left over from long ago when sugar cane was grown hereabouts along with other crops currently being processed hereabouts All these activities contribute mightily towards keeping this once vibrant little community going even though most people hereabouts don't really know it!

Fredericksburg is a small town in Williamson County, Texas, United States. The population was 3,752 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex. The community began as a small post office called Fredericksburg on Decatur Road (now FM 527) in 1878. In 1899, it became an incorporated municipality with a population of 1,200. The name "Fredericksburg" was given to the community by General Ulysses S. Grant during his visit to the area in 1865 while he was Commandant of Richmond Barracks. The town grew rapidly due to its location at the junction of two major wagon trails - one leading east to Lubbock and one leading west to Amarillo - and its role as a hub for trade and transportation within Williamson County. By 1892, Fredericksburg had become home to over 4,000 residents and boasted a public school and several churches including St John's Catholic Church which opened in 1907. The arrival of automobiles and other forms of transportation led toFredericksburg's rapid decline in popularity by the early 1920s; however, it continued to be occupied until 1974 when it closed its doors for good after years of neglect from both local officials and developers who saw no reason for an up-and-coming community near Fort Worth to share in their growth. In recent decades, Fredericksburg has regained some popularity as a weekend getaway spot due its Nearby attractions such as Battlefield Park where visitors can experience real battlefields from the American Civil War through World War II; along with nearby towns such as Arlington Heights which offers shopping opportunities unique among large cities; Additionally, there are many restaurants serving up delicious southern cuisine inside or outside Historic downtown Fredericksburg which remains popular tourist destination today despite having been abandoned for many years now

The town quickly became a key rail center due to its location on the San Antonio River and its access to Mexico City. By 1890, Fredericksburg had more than 1,000 residents and was home to one of Texas' first banks. In the early 1900s, the town experienced significant growth as soldiers from World War I moved into the area to fight in Europe. The war also led to increased production at nearby breweries and helped drive demand for products such as flour, coffee, sugar, tea, beer and whiskey. However, by 1920 much of the population had left Fredericksburg due to economic conditions in Texas and elsewhere. In 1930, after several years of steady decline, Fredericksburg again reached heights during its early years with a population of around 2,500 people. However, this prosperity ended after automobiles replaced horse-drawn cars as main means of transportation in the late 1920s and early 1930s. As industry slowed down throughout that decade and World War II began.,Fredericksburg slowly lost its population until it reached its current level of around 100 residents in 2000
