The first gun mags in Fredericksburg, Texas were started by a group of men in 1881. However, this project failed because it was not possible to print high-quality magazine issues on an industrial scale. In 1936, another organization was formed called the “Texas Rifle Association” which became responsible for all shooting activity within the state of Texas. The NRA also began publishing bulletins which detailed rifle ammunition availability and trends. This helped make sure that shooters had up-to-date information on what types of ammunition were being used in their shoots. Magazine sales eventually ceased at this point, but the idea of printing Bulletins still persists today!

Fredericksburg is a small town located in Bell County, Texas, about 25 miles northeast of Austin. The original settlers in the area were primarily farmers and ranch hands. However, by most accounts Fredericksburg has been an upstanding community with strong civic rights and traditions since its incorporation as a municipality in 1973. Today, Fredericksburg is home to a diverse population which includes both people from out of state and locals from all walks of life. Its economy is based on agriculture, manufacturing, services and tourism which account for most of its income growth over the past few decades. The town's infrastructure has also grown steadily over time including new roads (including Interstate 10), libraries (including one serving as the primary library for neighboring Austin) and public schools that have helped make it one of the fastest growing communities in Texas while still maintaining close ties to its rural roots.
Fredericksburg was founded in 1836 by General James Armistead as a military outpost on the banks of the Sabine River. The town rapidly grew, and in 1849 it became the capital of Texas. In 1861, Confederate forces attacked Fredericksburg, leading to the city's surrender. By 1865, the Union army had captured most of Texas, including Fredericksburg. The city was renamed Richmond in 1865 and remains its current name today.
