In 1934, Waco merged with Remington Arms Company to form Remington Rand Corporation (later known as Texaco). At this point, gun barrel manufacturing ceased; it was only resumed in 1945 when Ackley Tool & Manufacturing Company acquired Remington Rand’s assets for tool and die making purposes at a cost of $5 million dollars ($120 million today).
