Forney, Texas is a small town located in the heart of the Texas Hill Country. The town was founded in 1879 by General John B. Forney and his wife, Eliza A. Forney. It has since grown to be a significant center for the cattle and agricultural industries in the region. The population of Forney was 997 at the 2010 census, up from 880 at the 2000 census. The population density is 242 people per square mile (95/km²). Today, most of the commercial activity takes place on Third Street between State Road 611 and US Highway 281 near downtown, while larger establishments such as Walmart and Sears are located further east on Main Street or around Interstate 10 outside of town limits. In addition to its traditional roles as an agricultural center and cattle market, Forney also remains an important political center for southern Williamson County with two terms served by members of the Texas House of Representatives since 1974 and 1986 respectively - Asha Wadhwa (D) represented eastern Williamson County until 2018 when she replaced Ron Palazzo (R) in that district after he resigned due to term limits set by then-Gov Rick Perry (R). Additionally, it is home to Memorial High School which serves students from District 7 across much of Williamson County - making it one of only two high schools serving all 11 Williamson County school districts combined!

Forney, Texas is a small town in the county of Potter County, Texas. The population was 1,752 at the 2010 census. It is located on the banks of the Trinity River, about 25 miles west of Amarillo and 120 miles east of Dallas. The town was founded by George Forney in 1881. Forney is named after General James Fenton who fought in the Mexican-American War and later served as governor of Texas. The city limits were surveyed in 1897 by J.P. Morgan and others who named it Forney after him. In 1902, oil was discovered near Forney and development began immediately. A community hall, which still stands today, was built to serve as a local schoolhouse until 1924 when a new school opened that also served as an arena for local sports teams. The first post office in Forney opened on July 26, 1887 under the name Ofenheim; it changed its name to Fort Worth on December 6th of that year following incorporation into Potter County. On October 15th 1907, a fire destroyed most of downtown Fort Worth; however two blocks north of where the fire had started another building housed the first post office which reopened on November 3rd with newly designed facilities including a Postmaster’s Office and Shopfront; this building still stands today within walking distance of bothFort Worth Municipal Airport (FtW) and TCU baseball Stadium (TCU). Since 1930 there have been three ZIP codes: 76010-76014 (the old downtown area), 76210-76615 (the newer eastern side), and 77019-77023 (the western side). In 1903 when oil production ceased due to changing industry patterns Fort Worth became an important stop for truckers transporting goods from Midwestern states to Gulf Coast markets; this made Fort Worth one of largest commercial centers in North America at that time! In 1916 Fort Worth established itself as an arts center with support from donations from industrialists John Drexel Sr., Charles Schwab & others who gave $50000 towards construction projects such as Fine Arts Center & movie theater while they were still living; these projects actually began before they moved to their final location within what is now TCU Stadium! In 1927 Citizens' Bank Corporation moved its headquarters from San Antonio to FtW creating what would become one of North Texans most successful business ventures! After years during which FtW experienced rapid progress but no real progressual growth in commerce or culture LtGov Price renamed partof town Ft Worthalker Boulevard just for fun – something many residents found amusing because law enforcement forces used Topping Road interchange instead! In 1934 citizens voted to establish City Council eligibility requirements making public service more important than personal wealth or political connections! This event led directly to the establishment by City Council members themselves – beginning what would be known as “The Generation” period where civic engagement rapidly increased statewide!!! Today much remains unchanged since those days such as street names/prefixes etc.; however modern day technology has allowed us accessto nearly all types OF historical records kept electronically so we can better enjoy our past!!
