The Cow Goddess Statue now resides at Baylor University in Waco, TX; however, visitors can still view it during Baylor's "Cow Goddess Season" each year on October 10th thru November 4th during open house hours only!

Cook developed it into a large wheat and cotton farm that produced crops until 1915 when oil production began in Forney and other nearby towns. In 1911, Pioneer Electric Railway built a line between El Paso and Amarillo, which brought jobs to Forney; today it remains one of Midland County's most important cultural attractions. In 1923, Forney became an independent municipality with its own mayor and city council; it has remained that way since then. The Sons of Liberty Monument was dedicated on October 15th, 1925 by Drs John Denton and Milton Sutherlin II as a memorial to Confederate veterans who died during the American Civil War. The monument stands on Main Street just east of US 83 north of Old Trail Road northeast of downtown Forney. It includes four bronze tablets: "Erected by order of Mayor Wm Clements To honor Confederate Veterans who gave their lives fighting for their country."
