This event was also organized by the Citizens Committee for Gun Preservation and Prohibition. At this time, the city of Fort Worth had developed and expanded rapidly into what is now downtown Fort Worth. As a result, many people moved into new neighborhoods and began to own firearms outside of their homes. As a result, demand for storage space for handguns increased in Fort Worth as well as other cities across America during World War I.- On October 15th, 1935 two groups of gunmen stormed the Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings House in Austin Texas while she slept with her husband John Fenton Rawlings Sr.? During the rampage they took control of several residences before turning their attentions against MrsRawlings themselves.? A shootout ensued which ended with four gunmen dead., Five others were wounded including MrsRawlings herself.? In light of these shootings it has been argued that although Mrs Rawling may not have been directly targeted her house shooting could be seen as an act of terrorism which aimedto intimidate other Americans who might want to exercise their Second Amendment rights.?
Forney is a small town located in the Panhandle of Texas. The population was 7,617 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Forney County and home to the University of Texas at Austin. The first people to live in Forney were Indians who arrived from Mexico around 1836. In 1865, a post office called Forney was established, and by 1870, there were over 100 residents. The first school in Forney was built in 1872, and the first post office was open on November 1, 1875. At that time, it was known as "FornyStation". In 1902, a railroad line called the Brazos Valley Railroad came through Forney and made it easier for people to get to Austin. As a result of this development, businesses started opening up in Forney and its growth continued to grow until World War II when it nearly went away due to low energy prices. During World War I, local farmers became involved in supplying soldiers with food and munitions because they could not find anyone else who would do so. This led to some difficult times for the community during World War II as many farmers left for lack of money or other opportunities after the war ended. However, through creativity and hard work by locals such as Reuben Herron Sr., demand for goods resurrected after the war began again which caused many businesses back into business including Herron's grocery store which continues operation today under new ownership

The town was founded in 1876 by James Forney and named after him. The county seat was moved from Forney to Arlington in 1881 due to its proximity to Dallas, but Forney continued to serve as county seat until 1907 when it was moved again, this time to Garland. Located on the banks of the Trinity River and once home to one of the largest cotton plantations in Texas, Garland became an important center for finance and industry during the late 19th century. However, Garland's fortunes declined following World War I and throughout most of the 20th century; however, he has since regained some prominence as a retail district with several large shopping centers and several high-end hotels. Founded by James Forney in 1876 as a small farming community on what is now Brush Creek Road about northeast of downtown Fort Worth (now North Park), Forney grew rapidly thanks to its location within easy access of railroads and cattle drives that transported goods northward into central Texas. At first called "Forney Station," forrename changes followed rapid growth as businesses opened up around what would become Fort Worth: A grocery store, post office, bank - all soon followed by two newspapers (the first published in 1880), three schools (1881-1907), four churches (1887-1972) two movie theaters (both built 1912), then thirty-one factories between 1901-1927 before becoming an incorporated town in 1902 with a population of 350 people while continuing Growth via incorporation into larger cities such as Dallas/Fort Worth through 1914 only resulting In modest growth thru 1921 (-3% compared ToDallas).
