On January 8, 1907 – just two years after its incorporation – Forrest Hill had its first election when residents voted 3-1 to establish an all-white board of education for their town; these elections were not held again until 1912 due to local concerns about possible violence ensuing from black residents who felt they had no say in municipal decisions. In 1916 Forrest Hill citizens organized their own fire department which quickly became successful thanks to donations raised by many individuals including Mr. Forrest Hyde who donated $10 per month towards funding while also serving as captain of the department during its early days (the first funders were Mrs., Fannie Lafferty Hyde). Lutheran pastor Revd Abel Senter arrived in 1917 and began preaching services here that winter before moving into his present parish home next door later that year (Senter's home still stands today). Reverend Senter would stay here for over 20 years before eventually retiring in 2002 having served here since 1923 . On May 10th 1918 due to World War I activities within Fort Worth military barracks nearby (a consequence of WWI), Forrest Hills Elementary School closed temporarily due to damage caused by shelling - it reopened 3 weeks later with most students being housed elsewhere during that time period while classes were conducted out of temporary classrooms inside army barracks . Classes resumed again after repairs were finished but enrollment declined soon afterwards so classes were relocated back inside for good late summer 1919 . After several unsuccessful attempts starting in 1922 with only 4 students enrolled when opening day finally came around things changed when entrepreneur/founder of KFC Donny Haas purchased property adjacent to Forrest Hills Elementary then started construction on what would become one of Dallas' most famous landmarks - KFC Donny's restaurant which opened officially doors September 15th 1923! The restaurant has been continuously operating ever since! Throughout much of its history KFC Donny's has been known for hosting numerous popular events such as country music concerts throughout the year along with other special occasions such as graduations etcetera making it one helluva place To Eat!

Forest Hill is a small town in Richardson County, Texas, United States. The population was 1,914 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Dallas–Fort Worth metropolitan area. Forest Hill has been home to a Methodist church since 1872 and to the Richardson County Courthouse since 1907. The first settlers in what is now Forest Hill were farmers who arrived from North Carolina in 1836. In 1839 they donated land for a religious congregation to be established there. The first pastor of the Methodist Church was Rev. John Auld, who preached from his farm northwest of the present-day town center on Commerce Street. Reverend Auld's congregation grew quickly, and by 1850 it had built a church on what is now First Avenue between Elm and Hickory Streets. In 1872, when Richardson County was organized, Forest Hill became its second town; it had been annexed by nearby Plano in 1870 (see Richardson County timeline). In 1907 Forrest Hildebrandt became its first mayor after being elected as an Independent candidate during the then-newly formed Republican Party system in Texas (the party continued to exist until 1966). At that time only men could serve as mayors—initially held by trustees chosen by the county commissioners—but Hildebrandt won election despite being against annexation into Plano that year because he believed that rich people should not have control over poor people's lives. He served until his death in 1951 before becoming intercessor with God for Richardson County residents' social problems (he later founded The Hildebrandt School District). The current Richardson County Courthouse was designed by architect Alfred Brickell and built between 1907 and 1912 using proceeds from a bond issue approved by voters in 1916 which provided $4 million for courthouse construction statewide; this project is one of few remaining examples of Art Moderne architecture in Texas (it replaced an earlier Gothic Revival structure across Elm Street from where it stands).
