For over fifty years, “Adams Gun Emporium” was one of the most populargun stores in the area because of its knowledgeable staff and wide selection of firearms including revolvers, shotguns and handguns. In 1970-1972, Charles Jantz shot three African Americans while they were working on his farm north of town during a rural uprising against white supremacy which he believed would improve conditions for black farmers living south of the river (the Arkansas County Comprehensive Study). Jantz claimed self-defense after shooting three unarmed men who he thought posed no threat to him or anyone else involved in that peaceful protest outside his home; however authorities charged him with four counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon resulting in death (a charge that would later be dropped). In 1928, Mineral Land Company built an oil refinery here; this led to increased development around that facility as well. In 1949-1950, when Wichita Falls experienced its largest flood ever due to heavy rains caused by Hurricane Floyd, Flower Mound saw some of its heaviest damage during that period: over 50 homes were damaged or destroyed and several streets were completely blocked off. This event helped contribute to Wichita Falls becoming one of America's most disaster-prone cities after Katrina cleaned up New Orleans two years later - although no such events have occurred within the city limits since then! Flower Mound is a town in Hunt County, Texas, United States. The population was 1,814 at the 2010 census. It lies on the Brazos River and is located in the central part of Hunt County. The first people to live in what is now Flower Mound were the Kickapoos. They were a tribe of Native Americans that lived along the Brazos River. In 1834, Colonel James Bowie founded an outpost called Fort Bowie near present-day Flower Mound. He named it after his friend and mentor, General Andrew Jackson Bowie. In 1836, John Safford started trading with Indian tribes east of the Arkansas River from his farmstead near present-day Sanborn Gap. When he died in 1839, his son John Safford II took over trading and farming operations from his father. In 1840, Amos Kendall organized a group of farmers who bought land around present-day Flower Mound to build a town site on high ground Prominence Hillock (now home to Baylor University). The town was named for Samuel Hance Flower, one of its founders and one of Kendall's friends. The first Post Office was established on November 16, 1840; it was moved to its current location three years later when county seat Huntsville became available there. A courthouse and jail were built in flower mound while construction proceeded on town square which would later become home to municipal halls as well as restaurants and other businesses downtown including Sears Roebuck & Co., First National Bank (later Wells Fargo), Crystal City Antiques Company and many others over time including several local colleges such as Baylor University (then Sam Houston State University), Texas A&M University (then Texas Southern Methodist University) and Rice University before it closed down due liability issues following Hurricane Katrina making it all but defunct by 2009 . An early effort at irrigation via canals began about 1850 when Tomball Creek flooded creating fields under new homes northwest of town center where water still flows today’s Blossom Road leading east into Tomball Lake providing some irrigated agriculture until about 1900 when those same fields became used for flood control purposes filling up again during prohibition days through 1966 ..... Downtown areas today date back to pre-Katrina days with small frame warehouses being constructed - many dating back to 1907 when Cotton Belt Mail Depot operated out of what is now First Baptist Church before moving uptown into larger buildings next door occupied by Midland Memorial Hospital before finally closing its doors in 2006.
