In the early 1800s, Flower Mound was a small town in central Texas. It was known for its fertile farmland and its gunsmiths who made pistols and other firearms. The town also produced oil products.
Flower Mound is a city in Hardin County, Texas, United States. The population was 12,865 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Hardin County. Flower Mound has been home to a number of notable people including educator and president Booker T. Washington and musicologist Pee Wee Crayton. The first settler in what is now Flower Mound was James Robertson in 1836. He and his family built a cabin on the west side of the softwood swamp that later became known as Robertson's Plantation. In 1851, John Wesley Powell arrived in Flower Mound with his party of explorers while exploring the Rocky Mountains. In 1853 he founded the Methodist Episcopal church here which remains today one of the largest churches in Texas today and also houses several museums including specializing in Native American art and history as well as African American history and culture. In 1907, Averell Harriman purchased 1,000 acres (500 ha) northeast of town from David Waddell for $10 per acre ($2 million at current prices). This land would become known as Harriman Ranch where he developed it into an agricultural center supplying local farmers with hay, cattle, wool, corn and other vegetables until production peaked during World War II when more than 60% of all cotton grown in Texas came from Harriman Ranch fields.

Stone Targets were eventually replaced by more recent designs such as metal disks or plastic models which can be fired at any angle. Metal Disk Gun Targets are particularly popular among shooters because they offer many different configurations (Figure 1). The disk can be set up in several different ways and provides many opportunities for variation in aim (Figure 2). A variety of metals can be used to create realistic details on these targets including aluminum, brass, copper, lead acid battery operated lights, wood fiberglass, stainless steel and more (Table 1). Some shooters find metal diskgun targets to be especially challenging because they offer high accuracy but require experienced hand-eye coordination to hit accurately (Table 2). Someadvantages of Metal Disk Gun Targets include their ability to generate realistic gunfire even when viewed from behind cover; they are easy to install and remove; they can be customized making them perfect for specificfirer teams; they offer excellent value for money compared to traditional wooden disks; and they commonly produce higher quality results than other type of gunshot targets

As one of the oldest towns in Texas, Flower Mound, located about an hour’s drive east of Austin, has a rich history. The town was founded by white settlers in 1836, and quickly became known for its beautiful flowers. In addition to the local flower market, which remains a popular tourist attraction today, Flower Mound also had a flour mill and a blacksmith shop. The town was originally named after General Sam Houston’s sister-in-law (and future president), Margaret Hill Flower. The current name of the town comes from Colonel James Kline Ferguson’s purchase of 230 acres of land near the present day intersection of FM 620 and US 281 in 1881. The name “Furnace Creek” was given to the area because it had been used as an oil well by early settlers. The city that now resides in Flower Mound was founded on this property in 1903. Flower Mound is home to several universities including Texas A&M University-Commerce (TAU-Commerce) and Texas Christian University (TCU). It has also become home to several manufacturing companies such as Dow Chemical Company and GEICO Insurance Company. As one of the most vibrant communities in central Texas, Flower Mound offers plenty of opportunities for cultural attractions such as art shows and festivals, as well as recreational activities like fishing and golfing.
The Flower Mound community was founded in 1881 by settlers from Missouri. The first post office was established in 1883, and the first store was opened in 1885. By 1886, the population of Flower Mound had grown to over 350 people. The town became a municipality in 1907 and an incorporated city in 1912. In 1930, the city merged with nearby League City to form Houston metropolitan area.
