Flower Mound is a city in Kaufman County, Texas, United States. The population was 5,890 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Dallas–Fort Worth metro area. Armour & Company acquired Flowers Mound's Cotton Gin/Spinning Mill Zone in 1928 and continued operations until it closed down in 1971 after producing more than 2 million pounds (1 billion kilograms) of cotton from 1948 to 1957 alone!
