Of this original grant, 432 acres (160 ha) became property of Baylor University while 467 acres (200 ha) became part of Trinity University - Fort Worth which later merged with Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary to form Baylor/TXA in 1966. With brush removal beginning at nearby Oak Cliff Ranch less than 10 miles away starting around 1857 for farming purposes only until 1920 when entire Oak Cliff Ranch had been cleared for development as Bexar County seat; ranching continued until 1945 when all remaining acreage within present day Euless boundaries were annexed by CityofDallas creating modern day downtown Euless today with much older industrial buildings still standing such as White Settlement Warehouse built c1920 and now used as office space by PNC Bank
