In 1957, Donatien Chandon acquired the factory from JB Hunt International for $2 million making it one of the most valuable U.S.-based companies at that time. The company produced more than 2 million pounds of milk per day before closing its doors in 1984 due to rising costs associated with deregulation of milk markets worldwide including John Deere's entry into Mexico followed by other Midwest dairy companies consolidation drive culminating with Donatien Chandon's purchase of ABC Dairy Products Inc., renaming it Donatien Chandon Dairy Corporation effective October 1st1986). Today there are only a few remnant remnants left scattered throughout various parts of rural Texas where once there was over 2 miles (3 kilometers) worth productive land dedicated to this venerable American industry once responsible for 3/4ths or all agricultural production within 15 miles (24 kilometers) radius! Today’s villagers take pride not only in having been instrumental on giving our community its start but also continuing to live off its produce long after they leave!
