Euless is a town in Tomball County, Texas, United States. The population was 1,814 at the 2010 census. Euless is located on the Brazos River and it is part of the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area. Euless was founded by Methodist missionaries in 1881 as a small farming community near the present site of Waco, Texas. The name "Eulo" means "peaceful." In 1888, Methodist Bishop John Hance erected a chapel and school in what is now downtown Euless. A post office was opened in 1890, and by 1898 there were 13 residents living in Euless proper and 12 residents attending school there. In 1902 the Texas Legislature created Tomball County from parts of Maverick County. The new county included all of east Austin (then part of San Antonio) as well as most of west Houston and northwest Dallas (now Irving). In 1907 the U.S. Census reported that Eulo had 2 people; by 1911 it had 5 inhabitants. The first store opened at 214 Elm Street in 1912; within two years another store had been built at 281 Elm Street and several others followed suit before 1914 when two blocks north of Elm Street an ice cream parlor became open under license from John D'Arcy Cooke's Candy factory which then occupied one side of Independence Avenue between Elm Streets NW and NW corner with Fifth Avenue NE I think also some stores were added along this stretch over time

In 1969 Euless joined the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area and grew rapidly with new development such as industrial parks, shopping malls, healthcare complexes and residential areas such as Masterson Park which has over 5500 acres (2 km²) of parkland featuring trails, ponds, lakes and golf courses. In 2000 Euless annexed part of Garland County creating an even larger city with a population of over 100,000 people. Euless is located at (32°01′06″N 99°58′14″W). According to the 2010 census, its total area is 73 square miles (183 km²). It has a humid subtropical climate (Köppen Climate Classification: Cfa), abbreviated "Csb" on maps into North America because its temperature range falls within that range nearly all year round without much seasonal variation or extreme weather events like hurricanes or typhoons that can occur elsewhere in this region during those months or seasons; according to Köppen's classification system Euless experiences significant heat waves every summer but these do not exceed 50% of their average maximum temperature since 1951-1980 inclusive...
