Nowadays most people hereabouts are involved either in or around their local churches or schools - jobs which have helped keep the economy strong despite some naturaldecline over recent years; although oil production has been slowly declining overall throughout much of Texas overthe last decade or so due to OPEC's decision to reduce production quotas...Although not an agricultural center by any means (a little less than one-seventh of all Agricultural Product Sales generated in Tx were related to livestock products at national levels in 2006), Euless still ranks eighth among Uptown/Central Texas towns measured by Employment Rate & Median Salary for full-time employees...There’s definitely no lack of potential for growth if developers see what we’re doing here – whether thats thru retail development or simply thru increasing employment rates & salaries within our community."

Euless was founded in 1843 by General George S. Houston and his wife Eliza B. Houston. The town was named after their daughter, Eleanor Euless. It became the capital of Texas in 1845 and served as the state's interim government for a year before being moved to Austin. The city of Austin was founded in 1847, and Euless lost its status as the capital in 1849 when it merged with that city. In 1907, the cities of Dallas and Fort Worth were created withinAustin, and Euless lost its status as an independent municipality again. However, it remains a small town with a population of around 10,000 people today. The history of Euless began with its founding as an agricultural community on the banks of Buffalo Bayou near present-day downtown Austin. By 1840, the area had become one of the most important cotton plantations in Texas because it supported a large number of slaves who grew crops for export to other states. In 1847, General Houston purchased about 800 acres (300 hectares) east of what is now downtown Euless from David Caddo for $5 per acre ($50 per hectare). One reason why this purchase attracted so much attention was because Houston wanted to establish himself as a successful General in North America after he had been forced out of office during the Mexican War (1846-48). The land deed specified that Houston would have partial title until his death or until someone else took over ownership under those conditions; however, nothing ever happened to comply with this condition. AfterHouston's death in 1850, his widow sold all her shares to James Wacoal Jr., oneof Houston's business partners from earlier years. Wacoal built two houses on land adjoining where Main Street now stands in central Eulessand started marketing cotton products from these premises between January 1st and December 31st each year until 1861 when he leased them back to Houstons own store which continued operations until 1865 In 1853 there were only 20 families living in central Euless while 350 people lived north of Buffalo Bayou In 1860 Joe Jones opened up Jones Cotton Gin & Storage on Main Street opposite current day local bank building A lot has changed since then... Today’s businesses include: KFC restaurant chain ; Barnes & Noble bookstore chain; Apple Store - located just across US 90 from downtown; Ford dealership; Home Depot; Hobby Lobby Department store also located nearby
