The first building erected for this new school district was a log cabin on what is now Elm Street near what is now High School Road (later renamed Elmendorf Drive). Classes began in 1909 and continued until World War II when it was replaced by an airplane hangar used by then Lt./Gen James Forrestal during World War II as part of his Battle Hens program to train American pilots for combat against Japan. In 1945 after World War II ended there were only 177 students enrolled in grades 6-12 with 11 teachers; enrollment had fallen to just 81 students by 1954 due largely to lack of money from state appropriations which had been cut back followingthe war's end At present there are grades 7-12 with 25 students and 9 teachers; enrollment has increased gradually over the years because emphasis has increasingly been placed on technology programs providing opportunities for advanced placement credit . There have been many changesover time including: incorporation as a city in 1961; annexation into Wise County in 1996; designation as a rural unincorporated community by county commissioners effective January 1, 2002; establishment as an official county seat under commission jurisdiction effective February 15, 2003; designation as an inner city/town center eligible for growth services through Interstate 10 realignment act thru concurrent actions by both houses d'université et gouvernement de l'Alberta - efforts deemed necessary to stimulate downtown activity ; designation as one of five designated centers along I-10 corridor adjacent to Edmonton following enactment of comprehensive transportation plan entitled "Centers Core" ; reestablishmentof Chamber Of Commerce pursuant to acts passed ceilings year 2001 & 2005 reestablishing chamber's outdated facilities neighboring SAGM health care facility - continuing effort initiated several years ago reclaiming historical millrace name now known simply as "El Campo Mill" Prior thereto nameは「ウェイク・エピソード」 relying upon Spanish naming custom whereby rivers are given specific names according to their course and headwaters .
